I'm very crafty and have pay pal and was thinking of making ribbons for everyone if you send me like a dollar per ribbon you needed. I'd need to start pretty soon, and if their PIR changes, I'm willing to mail them.

My boyfriend is Ship 11 Division 252. I already have my airplane tickets, and have yet to get a hotel room. His recruiter told me it's safe to buy the tickets now because there is as much chance now of failing as week 8 when they hit battle station's.

So if you want one, get in contact with me and I'll get it rolling.

Hi.  My name is Robin and I am the very proud mom of a SR in Ship 11/ Div 251.

Hi Robin,

My son is also in 11/251, did you receive a phone call yet? We haven't here, he did say they got a 1 min. call but I'm not sure when and if he used to to call his girlfriend, they are saying :)

Thanks,

Joyce

Hi Joyce,

Yes, we received a 43 second phone call from him a few weeks ago, just to let us know he is ok.  I have been reading on this site to get information about our upcoming trip to Chicago, and I did see a post from someone that said they can have phone cards.  I did not know that.  We have had lots of mail correspondence, but he never said anything about it, so I am just waiting patiently for graduation :)

Hey everyone! My computer is down but thank the Lord for smart phones! Ive been watching emails and wanted to check in. We got letters last week! Hoping we might get more this week. My boyfriend got section leader and is doing great, misses us terribly and home cooked food! Even said he has a picture of me that helps him a lot. Made my week! I didn't even know he could have it but I'm glad he does and giddy that he can still kiss me goodnight as he says. I hope everyone else is doing well, his mom has booked our hotel and now I need to work hard to raise money for my train ticket (having trouble with my ears so worried about flying). So excites to see everyone happy at PIR, and especially excited to see my wonderful man! So proud of him!!!

@proudlady No computer really stinks but glad you can keep up to date with your phone I hope you get more letters this week too.

Finally got a letter!!  He said he missed the mail guy last week so my letter had to wait a full week to go out.  He said they found out the hard way not to laugh when they're getting questioned.  Apparently someone answered a question in a way that made everyone laugh so they got IT'd for 2 hours.  He said when they went to bed he opened one of my letters which told him to be careful not to laugh when they're yelling at you.  I guess the whole Division got a kick out of that little bit of late information.  Let's see....He said they only eat 3 times a day which is not enough, he's busy with doing the Medical Yeoman stuff, he loves the marching, misses his bed and video games, and has made a ton of good friends.  He loves it...says he's having a lot of fun and met a lot of great guys...although he didn't mention any names.  :)

Deez828

that is awesome, I got my son's letter today too!  My son's not mentioned any friendships at all... again.  He did say though that his division job was to fix anything broken... and he is going to be STICK 5 at graduation!!!  Monday he was supposed to get his wisdom teeth pulled.

He said EVERYDAY they are teased that they get a 30 minute phone call... but then as soon as somebody does something out of line... 10 minutes gets taken away... so by the end of the day... they don't get a call.

He's missing his freedoms, home, and descent showers. Which is better than before "this place sucks" LOL!

Hi ladies, I received a second letter from my son yesterday and he has mono and an infection so he is SIQ (sick in quarters) the letter was dated July 5, so I'm hoping he is better by now. He said they have him on 4 med's for the infection so I guess that is good. His sister had mono when he left, then with being up for 36 hours it must have grabbed hold of him. I'm wondering how he is, do you think his recruiter can find out or maybe already knows of his status? I'm also wondering if this could push his PIR date back?? Glad I can cancel my rooms if needed.

Also just a note, I copied and pasted some suduko and word find games to the letters I sent and he liked that, something to do before he falls asleep. Just thought your sailor might like it.

Thanks,

Joyce

Proudmama sorry your SR is sick, hope the med's get him back on track soon!

I got a phone call!  It was very short and he said it's getting harder but he still loves it and he's not going to quit no matter what.  He told me his bunkmate's first and last name.  The first name it Ethan but obviously I can't say the last name.  He said he's still got his job....and then they started yelling, "Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!"  I told him I love him, he sad he loves me...then he was gone.  Wow.  Rush of adrenaline.  :)

Deez828 that is so AWESOME!

I got my phone call, but my stupid cell phone was messed up and he couldn't hear me. I could hear him though. :-( So disappointed that I didn't get to say Hi!  I hope they get to call again.

Wow that is great you got a call and letter on the same day I didnt get a call today but its ok
