Haven't found many folks with SRs in this same group as my son.  Thought I'd try a new discussion?  I know 266 is brother div. with 265.  There must be a bunch of ya's out there!

So, who's going to PIR?  Where ya staying?  Hoping most will wear ribbons so that we can identify each other.

We are definitely attending, but are talking about staying in Chicago so we can go to the navy pier, etc.  We probably won't get our hotel until later, my husband likes priceline so he will find something when it gets closer......

We're absolutely going.  We only live 1 1/2 hours away, but are still planning on getting a hotel for Thursday night so we can attend Sarge's meet and greet.  Having booked the hotel yet, any suggestions, I know some are filling up already.   Also, I know when my daughter's best friend graduated from the Marines they had a family day on Thursday where they got to spend a few hours with their kids.  Does the Navy do that also?  If so, what time is that?

Hello Moms and Dads just wondering why my daugther never got her letters from us? How long before they can receive letters? Any sugestions? Thanks.

I believe they only get mail on Sundays. So far, everything I've gotten has been written on that day and it takes 3-4 days for me to get it.

chinadoll19 read on here that they get mail M-F at 8PM but SR only can write the 1st week few weeks on Sunday.  Been trying to write at least every other day.  Sent calling card numbers out last week going to send more today hope he gets at least some by week 3 so he can call my daughter and his family.

I finally got a really letter from my son in 265. He is doing good and staying focused. He is in a position he hopes to maintain, but says it can be somewhat stressful. On another note, I've been looking at hotels as I'm sure they fill up quickly, but a lot of them have poor ratings/reviews. I'll take any suggestions anyone may have. Thanks

No letter again today :'(

Hi...I'm Lisa.  I'm in the same boat...no letter yet.  What Ship/Div?  My daughter's name is Becca.

Hi everyone my son is in 09 div 265 new to this site.

Hi cynthia, welcome!  How ya doin?  Have you heard from your son?  Are you going to PIR? Where ya staying?  Do you know about the free calling cards for recruits?  How about Sarge and his services?  Just trying to get cha up to speed with this group!  Questions? ask away!  We're all here for each other!

MamaB - yes, after the graduation ceremony the parents get to spend the afternoon with their SR but they have to be back at base by I think 9 or 10pm.  Can someone tell me where the Sarge's meet n greet is?  There are meet n greets also at the Ramada Inn, was just wondering.
