Thanks!!...I'll be looking for it. ( She had on something she wouldn't have donated so I'm pretty certain there should be a box here soon). :)
Good morning fellow 7/10 shippers - I changed my name from qmastermom. It was based on my son's rating, but sounded more like a rap star. If anyone receives confirmation of PIR on 9/7, post it here so we can get our PIR group started. We'll be checking our mail boxes for those official form letters. Can't wait to receive mine!
I've gone ahead and booked 3 rooms assuming a 9/7 PIR...If it's a different date I'll just cancel, but I know where I want to stay and didn't want to chance it becoming full.
Box arrived a few minutes ago...Included her cell phone, ( her recruiter told us that depending on whoever is in charge of them, some are now being allowed to keep their cell's)...So far we've not come across anyone who has been able to keep theirs so were curious if her's would come back or not.
No mailing or PIR info included...Her insurance designation was in there though.
Her recruiter told me to call last Friday to get her mailing info, but I've tried to get through Fri., Sat., and this morning, with no joy...Slightly annoying, but we'll keep trying. :)
Hi Jules,
My Joe left on the 11th and I got all teared up this morning knowing some that shipped out on the 10th got their box, so I'm hoping today or tomorrow!!! Forget her recruiter, call the recruiting office if you havent gotten a response. Our office said 7 days from his departure that they would know, but some knew a few days after. :)
I just got Sean's box a about an hour ago. I teared up too, I couldn't help myself. Dirty socks never looked so good. Still no address though. Hopefully the letter will be in the mail soon.
You can go to www.Military-hotels.us. They have a list of the closest hotels to the base. We're staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, it's about 7-8 miles away, but they are normally very nice. They have a Naval graduation rate of about 89.00 per night. Thrifty, Budget and Alamo normally have good rates for rental cars.
UPDATE: Just got the letter from my daughter and she is in Div 277 with a PIR of Aug. 31.
Just talked to my daughters recruiter...He said she's in "Ship 3"...Div. 277
According to the Recruit Training Command website Div. 277 PIR's on Aug. 31st, ( a week earlier than I'd anticipated)...So I'm not sure if the recruiter's info is wrong, if I'm not reading the PIR dates right on the website, or if perhaps she was placed in one of those push div. ????? Very interested in seeing what divisions all of your kiddo's, ( or partners) are in.
The last division listed that PIR's on the 31st is 278.
jules When did you daughter arrive? Was it 7/10? I know my son would love PIR on 8/31, he was expecting 9/7.
She did arrive on July 10th...And I just spoke with MyNavysBaby whose daughter left with mine from Cleveland and they are both in the same division with a PIR of Aug. 31st.
It probably has no bearing on why they were assigned to their division and have an earlier PIR date than we'd anticipated...But they actually got to GL much earlier in the evening than I was expecting...Like around 7-8pm...I know others that left on the 10th arrived much later that evening...So maybe they were trying to fill some extra spots with the group ahead of them and pushed them up...Or maybe we're all going to find a PIR of the 31st...Don't know.
