For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Son left for boot camp on the 11th of July
Love Navyfor moms. Son left for boot camp recieved my phone call at 12:36 A.M. telling me he was there. I have been going through so many differnt emotions. After boot camp my son will be staying in Great Lakes to attend A school. His job to be is Damage Controlman. Anyone else have one that just left and will be going for the same job?

My daughter arrived at Great Lakes on July 11th. Her new husband got the phone call! He said she sounded good. She will go to Pensacola for A School. Her job will be Air Traffic Controller. I can't wait to get an address, I have 3 letters ready to mail. Hopefully will have news today. Her recruiter was in a meeting this morning.

That is great!! I also cant wait for the address I have a running letter since he left just telling about our daily activities. Son said it would be 3 to 5 weeks before we would have the kid in a box and them we would get info on an address was hoping it would be sooner.

I cant wait to get an address so I can mail off my letter. Have been keeping it updated everyday since he has left. Was so good to hear his voice when we got the "call". It did help with the anxiety that I was feeling. Hopefully we will get something soon.

So excited received our first "real" letter yesterday. It was so wonderful to hear from him. I guess when they got there a few of the people caught a stomach virus, he said he didnt get it. Thank goodness. He sounded in good spirits, I was so worried about that. He is counting down the days til we see him....I know this probably sounds strange but I can already tell he has grown up and matured. I am so proud. It takes a special kind of person to do what our family members are doing they are all amazing!

How did you find out his Division and Ship numbers? My son left the same day from Sacramento CA.

Recruiters sometimes have the address and will call with it or loved ones can call and ask for it. If you do get an address from the recruiter, be sure to go to http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp and double-check the address. Recruiters sometimes give a generic address for the RTC. If the street address is not correct, then it can delay mail to your recruit, sometimes by as much as 3 weeks.

I do not know any of that yet. Still waiting on the letter. We did get his box. That just bring up all the emotions again. I keep checking the mail every day so hopefully it will get here soon. As soon as I get the letter I will post ship and Div.

Ok got the letter a couple of days ago and son is Ship 09 Div 284. So not in the same Div. Was great to get that letter. Sent off 3 letters already. Cant wait to get one from him. Miss him so much. Going to start calling on hotels. Love the feedback on hotesl that I have seen on here. It is great to know if a place is worth staying at. Love this site . Thank you so much for all the great information.

I was just looking around, and I have a daughter going into air traffic control also, but she is in Ship 11, Div 279. I wonder if they will get a chance to meet before A school in Pensacola?

I dont know...I wonder how much interaction they have with everyone. I wonder how they divide everyone up. Things seem to be going well for him. Hope to meet up with everyone at graduation. It will be nice to put a face with a name.

Unless they are in an 800 division(spec ops) or 900 division(music) it's totally random.
