I grew up in Hampton. But there really aren't any decent affordable apartments in a safe area here. If you want an apartment in a safe area, you will have to pay a little more money.  If you have any questions let me know!  I will be here until the middle or end of July, then we are moving up to Groton, CT to be with my husband at A school.
Hi, I am moving to Virginia Beach May 28th. Looking to make some new friends. I have 2 children, a boy, 8 and a girl, 3 1/2.

We are looking for a place in VA Beach because everyone says thats the safest place to look. We will be there in July and since I wont know a soul other then my husband I would love to get to know you! ( that sounds so lame, I feel like such a loser) add me on facebook. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1040515111

Dandoona,  We are moving into a townhouse in VB. There are 2 other military couples moving w/ us to the same townhouses. If you want any info about where we are staying, send me an email. It's only a 6 month lease too.

knwisconsin,

My son is moving from Meade to VA at the end of the month.  His wife and 5 year old son will be moving there from Maui to be with him.  Do you have any leads on an apt or house in a safe are for them?  We heard base housing has a long waitlist.

Mahalo.

Hey Ladies!

They are opening new apartments in chesapeake, it's 20 minutes from the base in Norfolk, 30 from Oceana, 34 Dam Neck it's gated and they have the RPP program, it doesn't open till September but I know they have 6 month and 12 month terms which is nice and a military clause, I'm moving there once they open. i currently live in Norfolk and my husband and I are moving there because he would rather spend more 10 minutes more in traffic than live here in Norfolk, it's just not a good place to live, and The Carlton at Greenbrier is in a great location with restaurants and the mall across the street literally!!! I'm super excited!!! Plus it's gonna be gated!!!! They only have the 1 and 2 bedrooms with the RPP left so hurry ladies it would love to have more military wives to hangout with when our boys are out at sea, we can go shopping and out and have girldates!! I checked out the area to make sure it was safe cause after I moved from Great lakes and moving here blindly I now know better and I hated to be surprised when I got here that sure enough all the warnings were true and Norfolk sucks! I did all the leg work and Tricare is a street up and so is Zoots where you can get your sailors uniforms dry cleaned, most of the restaurants give a military discount and  the mall, it looks like its being developed so it's a newer nicer area.  www.carltonatgreenbrier.com
