My son is in basics (ship 03, Div 245) and I have not received a phone call yet. Has anyone else in this division?

I'm not in any way associated with his division, but I'm sure everything is fine, if something was wrong you would be the 1st to know. No news is good News.
I read your post and do hope you hear soon. I did get a little confused. My son is also on ship 03 but his division is282.
Are there more than one divisionon the same ship? He's starting his second week so I know we have alot tolearn and along way to go. All we've gotten to date is his box and the form letter but for those I was greatful. Just can't find anything yet specific to his division/PIR etc...yet. I was looking for anythig on his ship but your post makes me wonder if things about the ship are not necessarily about him. Hope I'm making sense. Does ship 03 correspond withanyof the ship names?
Again, hope you get to hear from him soon.
Yes, there are quite a few divisions on each ship.
That is odd to not get a phone call in five weeks. Is it possible your SR is calling someone else?
I was thinking the very same thing. If your son has a girlfriend, it is very possible that the phone calls are going to her. This is what happened with my son, but I knew ahead of time that he would be calling her. There are also a few RDC's that don't allow phone calls.
Hi busybee,
Just know that there are many reasons that calls may not come in; if they are on watch when calls are able to be made then they will not get the opportunity during that time and some may get to make the call and not others because they run out of time or their division may have had the privilege taken away if they as a team are not doing well or if anyone misbehaves etc before everyone gets a chance to have their call and their RDC just may not allow it.
It is very difficult and I understand...my SR is PIR 08/17/2012 Ship 3 Div 253 and we have not received a call either in the 5 weeks except for the day he arrived to say he made it. We did receive a letter last week that said he would be calling us on the following day (13th) that did not happen...again, could have been for many reasons.
I hope that helps somewhat, knowing that no news truly is good news, as if something were amiss they would call you. I too want to hear my SR's voice so badly but receiving his letters at least takes away some of the sadness :) I hope that you get that call quickly ((hugs))
Kellie
