My son is also on ship 03 Div 254, I'm a little late getting to this site, my son just suggested I log on during his last letter home! (Sorry!) I can say it was a little hard finding this group, was stuck in the basic group for a while and getting post from mom's who just sent their son/daughter off (brought up how far I have come since day one!!) It's nice to get the letters and the phone call! My son sounded so mature already and positive so that helped! Does anyone know if they are able to call home again? I sent him a extra calling card just in case, but his dad (former Navy) said he only was able to call home once (way back then...)
My husband is in the same div. Did you get a call home about 2 weeks ago because most of us already received our 'I am still alive' call home. If you did not receive a call your SR most likely got their wisdom teeth pulled the weekend the division was allowed to call home. WIth that said, we will only be receiving the 'I am sailor' call which is right before PIR. All other calls will be earned, so don't expect to hear from him until after August 12th.
Welcome to the group :)!
Is the mom or loved one from the RPOC for Div 254 on here??? If so your son is the division's honorary recruit!!! Congratulations! My husband told me this in a letter that I received today. He voted for him as well :)
Congrats Nicole M... that's a big honor because it's voted on by the recruits in the division. They must have a great deal of respect for him.
THANK YOU.WE ARE VERY PROUD OF HIM AND THIS IS ALL HE HAS EVER WANTED TO DO.
My son is Ship 3 Div 254 as well. I received a letter this week that he fractured his heel. I don't what that will mean for him and his PIV date. Anyone out there experienced any hospitalization ???
Hey Nicksmom, the only thing I can say is that it depends on so many things. How bad is the fracture? Did they move him to ship 6? Is he able to still train while he is injured? Will it heal up enough for him to participate in battlestations? If he is not able to finish with this division they will hold him in ship 6 (the medical ship) until he is able to continue training. Only the Navy doctors will be able to tell him all of this after evaluating his injury, and if his PIR date is pushed back he is supposed to call you right away to let you know that he won't be graduating with this division.
Does anyone from 254 have anymore exciting news to share? It's fun to compare notes from other moms, but there aren't many out there from our division :-)
Pretty much the same things... We are staying at the Ramada... are you coming to any of the meet and greets? She did get her wisdom teeth pulled... was in pain for a few days, but healed up. Did he happen to mention if they got any flags as a division? What A school is your son going to?
