Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Sending Postage Stamps to Great Lakes?
I didn't even think about the fact that my SR will need postage stamps for the letters he write home. I'm not sure he will be much of a letter writer. It's just not his personality to do things like that, but I sure hope he does! Can I send postage stamps to him in the first letter I send to him?

Good morning. Yes, you can send him postage stamps. Did you send phone cards? If not, there is a link that I can send you that will supply Free phone cards to SR that are going through boot camp.

Yes, and phone cards too. My son is not much of a letter writer either, but before he left he didn't think mail would be that important, and now he knows better. You can get phone cards at callsforsoldiers.com and they do work. Buckle up buttercup, this is a wild ride.

My son is also not a writer, but he may surprise you. We had given our son with a couple of those packs of stamps before he left and he was already asking for more in his last letter. (He's about half done now.) He writes us a couple times a week and it's fun to see what he's writing to other people who have sent him letters.

Thanks everyone! So I guess it's okay to send some stamped envelopes in a larger manilla type envelope? I don't want to do anything to get him in trouble. I did get him the free phone cards and sent those with him, I just hadn't thought about all this letter writing business until after he had gone. I've already written my 1st letter and am just waiting to get the address. I can't wait to hear from him!! :)

I sent i think a total of 3 books of stamps while my SN was in boot..I did get him a phone card before he left.. Start writing.. and you will be AMAZED at the letters you receive!!
