I joined a closed group on FaceBook called "calls for recruits/letters" that is a group that provides the addresses of recruits not receiving mail....just about broke my heart! If any of you feel led or find that you might have the time to send out an extra note when writing to your SR please let me know and I can get you the info. I just cannot imagine that these young people are not able to get encouragement or praise during such a huge adjustment in their lives and letters play such a large part in the emotional motivation and positive outlook during such a drastic change. Blessings <3

So very excited...my SR called tonight and we all spoke for 20 minutes!! It was so amazing to hear his voice after 5 weeks and he sounded so upbeat and good! He said he was on watch on the 13th when they let the Div make a call and that is why he hadn't called but that the RDC let him do it this evening :) Cannot believe it will just be 25 days and then we will see him although he did say that after graduation on the 17th we will be able to spend the day with him but then he flies out just after midnight for A school :(
So glad that he was able to make up his call. I just wish my daughter could... oh well :-( Sounds like he's doing well. Only 3 more weeks of training to go... our kids can make it! They will finish strong! :-)
Hi Jill,
Thank you, It was just what I needed and so very glad he was able to make the call. Yes, he sounded great and I cannot believe only 3 more weeks!! So glad to see your post...been rather quiet in here and I might just have to talk your ear off LOL Hope you are doing well and I sure hope that call comes in to you soon! :)
Sounds good to me... let's chat! :-)
I hope you each are doing well, receiving letters, hopefully calls and getting ready for PIR if your able to make it :) Looking forward to seeing all at Great Lakes Naval Station in 22 days <3
That's awesome!! I bet our SR's have run across each other :) Are you able to make it to PIR 08/17/2012? There is also a group for our PIR on Facebook that has lots of daily conversation (which is very nice and a great way to get to know others experiencing the same things) https://www.facebook.com/groups/385123854884947/ :)
August 3, 2012 ~ 14 DAYS UNTIL PIR!!! So very exciting and back at the end of June I never could see these days happening....truly has been a roller-coaster ride....so ready for the next phase of this amazing journey! Now just waiting for the "I am a Sailor" call :)

I believe it's tonight/tomorrow morn from what my recruit said during a ph call this past Friday.
We think that 253-256 are sailors now, having gone through last night. Expect that calls could begin in the next few hours (around 2 pm GL time) and go for a while!
