I am hearing some not so great things happening on this website.
They range from cliques to RDC's trolling so they can cause problems for our SR's.
I have decided that I don't need this site like a handful of others I have heard from that have been publicly chastised on this site for posting things as mundane as their child's first name.
This is a sad thing, considering the idea behind it is a great one. I shall just be smart and stick with the actual Navy Website, my SR's recruiter and my SR for any information I need along with the group I have joined elsewhere that appears to have more knowledge of what is happening due to the fact there are more there sharing without fear of being talked down to or slapped in the face by someone else's words.
Shame on those of you that had less than good judgement in your actions and thoughtlessness in what you placed out in open forum towards other mothers who are just trying to make it through the next day of not hearing from their SR's.

BQB, I've really got you fooled. No, you are correct, you and I tend to be more conservative than some of the others. There is room for all of us as long as we are willing to jump in and remember that we are all here for each other and to check things out when they seem odd rather than getting all in an uproar and then not coming back.
Come back Momma_Bear and let us know what's up with you and your SR.
LOL! You really think after all the posts on here calling her out, she'd come back? Perhaps if we change the name of the site and we all hide behind the sofa and when she logs back on, we all yell, SURPRISE!!!!!
Concernedad, I try to never hold things against anyone and I think/hope most of us are that way really. There is a lot of good info and support on this site for Momma_Bear if she were to really give us a chance.
Momma_Bear,
I don't know about cliques; there are several who have become good friends on here and some of us even connect off of the site.
As far as RDC's trolling the site, that did happen when the site first opened in 2008 and every once in a while we hear about it happening, but the RTC addressed it and it is not supposed to happen, but it is best to watch what you post and start considering OPSEC and PERSEC so that nothing you post can be tied to one particular recruit/Sailor. I really think that the RDC's have way too much to do to be checking this site or the RTC fB site to try to find something to hang over a recruit. They will always find something to IT a recruit/division for if the recruit/division needs IT to be ready for the PFA and everything else needed to get to PIR.
I can find no post, when taken in context, that indicates there is anything wrong with posting a recruit's/Sailor's first name. This site does indicate in the Community Guidelines not to use last names. Many of us choose not to post first names, but that is a personal choice and not something that the site or anyone on here dictates.
Yes, some of us get taken as being rude at times because we don't always sugar-coat our comments and advice. That is one of the short-comings of the printed word, you cannot tell the actual tone of the comments. We share all kinds of things on here, if you have concerns, post where you have found them. Please be sure to check the date of the posts before posting to be sure you are responding to something recent and not bringing up very old info.
You can make it through BC without this site or any other site; I did, but the support and information found here is so good when you keep an open mind.
All I know is you cant make everyone happy all the time. I mean shit look all you girls are happy with my picture and concerned dad is all butt hurt....hahahahaha Dude suck it up!!!! It wasnt for you anyway....Where is Craig? he can save you
I am not "butthurt"! I just don't like having my picture posted without giving you permission.
Actually, I'm not particularly happy with your picture, so "all you girls" is incorrect, but I know you posted it in good fun, so I'm not going to get all upset about it.
Thank you very much lemon. Can't we bust her in rank or send her to Captain's Mast or sumthin'?
Nope, she didn't enlist, her Sailor did, so that's out. One day I hope that she will come to love the support of the other Navy Moms and Dads.
Souldnt do to much judging.Believe me when I say you have done your share of pissing people off.
Reality check..you cant make everyone happy
I am very aware of that.
I was just rereading this discussion and boy, did I miss the boat with that comment!
The first sentence was correct, but the second was way off. Somehow at the time of the comment, I was thinking of Momma Bear instead of Denise. Denise has her own style and we have learned to agree to disagree on some things, but she does appreciate this site and is an asset in her own way. It takes all kinds to make up a family and she makes her own contribution to the N4M family.
