We are planning a visit to Hawaii, my son is on pearl harbor. What are some options for lodging?? I know they have a Navy Lodge, but I dont know the rules about staying there. any suggestions?

The service member has to check you into the Navy Lodge. He might have to make the reservations. I don't know if you can get in, it is very, very full most of the time. You can call them and ask directly. You can check availability online.

Another option is to call MWR and see if your sailor can book you into a beach cottage. You'd need a car, they're over by Ewa Beach.

There are lots of options such as the travel sites, or find a timeshare owner who is renting out or someone who is renting their house (vacation rentals). About the most expensive thing to do is book a hotel directly by calling their 800 number.
That Navy lodge is on the base, you will not be able to just drive on and off as you please, with out your Sailor with you.
Thanks, that was my main concern. He will be working while we are there, so we want to be able to travel freely
Not like there's any shortage of places to stay in Hawaii. While you're there, there's a very nice restaurant off the beaten path called The Willows. Might wanna check it out.
Thanks always looking for nice restaurants off the beaten path. There are lots of places to stay, just trying to save a little on lodging so we will have more for food and fun.
Thanks for the information, since he is on Pearl Harbor I thought it would be nice to stay close. Although I want to be able to travel freely with or with out him if he is working. I'm still checking we have lots of time not visiting until next year.
