Hello everyone,

I am new to the navy life, My better half is in basic right now and I am still here in WA.  I am looking to talk to others that understand what I am going through,  There are times I think I am stronge and I can do this then there are times I feel so lost without him, everyone tells me what Im feeling is normal. But not everyone understands.

Hello Sarah! This I definitely one perfect place to be...lots of wives on here as well as moms like myself! On these websites you will not feel alone or as afraid as you may be feeling right now! I am in AZ, but daughter is in Everett so I can keep up on things through here. Others can guide you to the PIR websites, then you wil find people in your husbands class. Then when he I assigned a ship, there will be another website, along with one for his rating, etc! Very cool and you can truly say how you feel and ask all the questions you have! Good luck on your new journey

Does the feeling like there is a big hole go away along with the wanting to throw up all the time?

Yes, with time. Where are you in Washington? Welcome to the WA/OR page. We have TONS of awesome wives, girlfriends, moms on our page. My son is a Reserve with the Seabee's and is based out of Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tacoma. I'm very lucky that he is close to home.

I am in Lynnwood near everett.  :)

That's where I live! Small world.

woohoo :) It is a small world, maybe we can get together for coffee sometime

I'd love to. Let me know when your available. I'll "friend" you.

Hi Sarah, I can really empathize with that feeling, even though it was because of a slightly different reason. However, whatever the reason is, it is valid and it is painful. I'm sure it is because we are grieving the loss of a very important part of us that will not be replaced but we have to find ways to start to "fill in" the hole. I think you need to remember this separation is temporary and the reunion will be sooo sweet. I totally agree w spyder013 about getting signed up in his PIR group and on the girlfriend/fiance/wife pages, too. I'm sure those gals will be a great help. Even if you don't have his address yet, start writing the letters and hopefully planning your trip to Chicago for his PIR. Also, think about something you like to do or would like to do. Now would be a great time for some "me" time and don't feel guilty about it! Unfortunately, I also totally agree w ebigirl. Like most grief, it does become manageble, just never completely goes away. The ladies on here are super helpful AND always understand our aching hearts.

Boot got easier for me once we started getting letters back from him. Then the time flies and we have PIR in 3 weeks! I'm soooooo excited.

My husband finishes basic this friday!!! So yeah I'm 100% with you!

Matt leaves this Tuesday for Everett WA!  He is going to pick our place then kids and I are moving up finally!!
