Yes names should have been on the form letter, but there is a parking pass that you print off from online if you will be driving a car onto the base. The form letter also has that information and password.

Hi Nick.

My brother left for boot camp on Thursday.  I have wrote a letter each day and plan on mailing them as soon as we get the address in the packet.  I read online somewhere that you can send pictures, small ones.  I have two questions. One I dont want him to get into trouble or extra harassment for that, is it okay? Did anyone get them while you were there and are they helpful?  Two, I read addressing another envelope and adding paper for him to write back and then putting it in your letter is helpful, what are your thoughts?

Thanks for the help.  While we are in the waiting period right now, this website is saving me.

Hey Nick I have a question for you my daughter wants me to send her a few things. She is in BC she graduates 8/24 it isn't anything big I could fit it all in a padded enevelope will she be able to get it if I send it to her like that.

Depends on what the few things are, and if she has approval to receive them.   If it is stuff like make up or her contacts for PIR, then yes.  Almost anything else, then no.  Large envelopes get opened in front of the RDC, if it is not allowed, it goes in the trash.

It's like shampoo, lotion, deodorant, and makeup

Ask if her RDC has approved each of those items specifically.  I've only heard of make up being allowed, but her division may have an RDC who will allow all those items.  They can't receive packages, although I heard of one who was given permission for a curling iron right before PIR.

Hi Nick,   First and foremost.... Thanks for your service.

My Son left for BC 8/9.  Everything happened very quickly.  He was only sworn in on 7/17 so I really haven't had much time to digest this all.  But OMG, do I miss him :(

My question is.   He called me when he arrived at Great Lakes, it was 1:30 a.m. and I missed his call.  He left a message. He arrived safely, would call in 3-4 weeks and they had "cake".  It was awesome!!   What the heck is he talking about?  Cake?!?!?  some kind of code word, or are they welcomed with cake????  LOL   I can't wait until his next phone call to find out.

Thanks again.

My son has PIR on 8/31/12 and heading to Pensicola as well.  Do you know with it being a holiday weekend will he fly out  later in the weekend vs Saturday?

THE FORM LETTER HAS

1.  Your Recruit's Ship and Divisions numbers & official address to use.

2.  Your Recruit's PIR (Graduation from Boot Camp) Date

3.  PASSWORD needed to download the parking pass from the RTC site

4.  The four names listed as GUESTS for PIR.

Click on this, you'll see a sample of the Form Letter and you'll find links to RTC site along with all the PIR groups that have been form on Navy For Moms.

Hi Nick I do have questions...

My SR is 11/301...I have received one letter with no answers for me. I am not even sure that he is receiving my letters. No phone call yet. I hear no news is good news. What can you tell me about the challenge coins, would he want them/need them. Any suggestions on a graduation gift? Any help would be greatly appreciated. And thank YOU so much for your service.
