Hi,

Yes My son left that day too!  He arrived at BC on August 28th -

trisham63,

Thank you for the reply. It is nice to know what other parents are going through the same thing. Wishing you and your family the best!

Hello! My son flew out of Nashville on the 27 and arrived at 330. He texted me ad he was getting on bus.at 6. Received his official "I am here" call at 9:01. 15 seconds .... Not long enough. Waiting on box now. Hardest thing I have ever done was take him to recruiters office and watch him get on that van.

3boysmom,

Thank you for the reply. We had to take our son to Oklahoma City on the 26th. We live over 200miles away from the airport so he had to be there the night before to finish paperwork with the recruiter around 5pm. That is when we said our goodbyes. I knew it was going to be hard, but it was one of the hardest things I have had to do. I think I was crying most of the day. He left Monday around 6pm. He landed around 830pm. I got the phone call @1130pm. I'm like you, waiting on the box. Wishing you and your son the best!

LindaL,

Just got a phone call from my SR's girlfriend.  She received the form letter today.  His PIR is October 19.

She also received his box this past Friday,8/31/12.   He is Ship 14 Div 44.  Letters being mailed in the morning,

My fiance left on the 29th, we are in Chicago so I was able to be with him until he left meps for the airport to wait on the other SR to arrive. I got a call last night at 7:15 saying he made it to Great Lakes. 17 second phone call :(

Maybe we will all be at the same graduation.

Hello!

My son went to MEPS on the 27th and flew out of Richmond VA on the 28th.  I received the well rehearsed "I am safe and you will receive my belongings in a box.  Talk to you in about 3 weeks." call at about 10pm on the 28th.  So excited for him and very proud of him, but I miss him already!

I look forward to talking with all of you throughout the next couple months.

We got his box today, which I thought was very fast!  Didn't expect to get it until next week:-/  Although I though it would be difficult to get his belongings in a box, it wasn't bad.  I could see the address was written by him, which was fun to see because it has been awhile since I have seen his handwriting...mostly texting:-)

Any one else get the box yet?

I received my box last Thursday. I received the form letter today. His PIR is Oct.19th. I hope you receive your form letter soon!

My son arrived at bc on the 28 th and we received his box today. We are now waiting on the letter to arrive.

cjbutler3,  My son left on the 27th. His form letter was postmarked Aug.30th and I received it yesterday. Of course there was no mail on Sunday and Monday. I would think you should be getting it anytime.

cjbutler3, It will have the ship number, the division number and your son's PIR date and his address so that you can start writing him. It will also have the 4 intended guests listed that your son wants at the graduation. It also has some other important information. I hope you receive your letter soon!
