I talked some ex-military people and they all said everyone fails the first inspection, that the instructors will look and look until they find something. Our son said they all had to stand at attention for 3 hours while the inspection was going on. He is occasionally using the word 'fun' to describe his time there. He says he really misses his brother, father and especially his mother.
DId yours mention what ship watch times he has? Mine does watch too because he already passed all his physical tests.
How is everyone surviving? We made our reservations and look forward to seeing our SR at PIR!!! Not decided on a graduation gift though...
Hey, girl, did you change your name? Or am I confused?
We have reservations at the Best Western in Gurnee and are driving from East Texas.
Yeah, I changed my name...thought it might be better to get my son's name off of there:)
Ok, I didn't remember a luckymom in our group. Are you on Facebook with us? We're more for fun and freindship over there. Join us at PIR 9/21/2012 RTC Great Lakes. But stay on N4M for the best Navy information.
Just got more letters from my son. He says he feels like he is cutoff from the world and has no idea what is happening outside the base. He wants his brother to send him info on new games coming out. He wants his dad to send him news articles and science articles. I think he just wants reading material.
My son said the same thing...any news about the outside world was welcome. Lot of the guys are also looking for updates on football! LOL Go figure!
Yeah I can imagine, no football updates is probably killing some of them :) ha ha. Never thought about sending reading stuff whatever the topic might be.
Wow, didn't realize that this page existed. I am glad I found it, wish I would have found it sooner. My daughter is in this ship, division 303. I have received several letters from her and I have sent her more than several letters and some pictures. She asked for more pictures and said it helps her stay connected. I can't wait to see her and spend at least a few hours with her before she ships off to A School.
Hey, alicia, glad you found us. We are also on Facebook - PIR 9/21/12 RTC Great Lakes. Join us there for more friendship and fun.
My daughter mentioned in one letter the youngest in her division was 17.
