Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 343 & 344. These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the main wall to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I guess I will be next...My name is Tammie my son is ship14 div343. I have two children my youngest in GL!! His A-school of choice is in GL!! I havent recieved any letters or calls yet besides the Im here call!! Im waiting anxiously this week for a letter!!!! ~fingerscrossed~

Just curious....would the USS Arizona  be my son's ship name?

Yes it would. They Ship is 14 which is the USS Arizona. It's just the division that is different.

Hey everyone! I'm Autumn. My Fiancee and I have been together for 5 years. His is going into IS so he will be going to A school in Virginia. Got a phone call last Tuesday because he needed information for security clearance. It was a brief and down to business call but a good and emotional call at that. I'm hoping and praying for a letter this week and maybe another call since sometimes they get a call at three weeks in. Hope everyone is holding up waiting to hear from their SR!

Hello, I'm Jenny.  My oldest son is in Ship 14 Div 344.  He is the oldest of soon to be five.  We are from KY.  This is by far the longest i've ever went without talking to him.  Unless something changes his job is going to be machinist mate and will have A school in GL.

I am Tami and I have 3 boys.  We are from Alabama.  My oldest (20) is Ship 14 Div 344 (USS Arizona).  He will remain in GL for 6 weeks and then will go to San Diego, CA for 18- 24 months of C school.  He will be STG Sonar.  I received the "I am here "call and his girlfriend received the box and official form letter.  I was a little disappointed in that, but I think that was his way of letting her know how important she is to him and letting me know that I had to let go.  Thankfully we have a good relationship and she keeps me informed with what information she has.  She made me a copy of the letter.

I made our reservations yesterday for PIR and scheduled time off from work.   I check N4M's daily.  I do not always have time to post but I am checking.  Knowing that you all are going thru the same things help me cope daily.  My son gets irritated when I ask a lot of questions, so checking here and hearing what others know helps me tremendously.

I look forward to getting to know  you and  hopefully meet you in October.  Please know that your SR's are in my prayers daily.  I might not know them but they are becoming a part of my sons life, so I include the entire Ship in my prayers.

I am proud that my son chose this pat , however I was not ready to let him go,  This is a daily struggle for me.  I am anxiously awaiting a letter or a call.  My hope is that this is all he wants it to be.

Hello! My name is Dana and i have 2 children. One which is in ship 14 div 343! Im always wondering how he is, what he is doing. We have only received the box, and then the form letter too! I just want a phone call or even a letter would be awesome!! Ive been trying to learn as much stuff as i possibly can about boot camp and just the Navy in general. This week has been, Navy Week in Detroit, ( we live close by there) so we went and it was amazing!! I think all of our kids are going to have amazing lives in the United States Navy!! I can not wait until October 19, 2012.
Hi, my name us Debbie. My son is in Ship14, Div343. Still waiting for some form of real correspondence from him. Got the 30 second,"hi I'm here" call, the box and the form letter. Now, anxiously awaiting to hear his voice again or see his chicken scratch handwriting. Lol. Missing him terribly. October 19th can't come fast enough!
My SR is in your son's division too! I run to the mail box every day to see if a letter has come!

Well, from what I've been reading, they were given time to write on the 5th and the mail went out on the 7th or 8th. So, hopefully, we should get something by today. Fingers crossed! Keep me posted and I'll do the same!

Mailman came... still no letter!! Ugh :( then I found out that my son's A school is Pensicola, Fl and not GL. We were planning on staying the weekend and hoping to spend some time with him after graduation before A school. But, from what I've heard, if your A school isn't in GL, then you ship out the day after graduation. So disappointed right now! I hope you have better news to share!
