I'm super excited that my son has sworn in and has a Boot Camp Report Date of September 26, 2012. I hope that through this site I can meet other moms who will also have sons and daughters that will be there at the same time.

My child leaves Louisiana on 9/25/12. Glad to have found a group of moms who's children are leaving at the same time.

My son leaves Pennsylvania 9/26/12. It seemed so far away and now the day is coming so fast. Honestly cannot believe he is 18 it seems like I just took him to his first day of preschool.

It is amazing when you realize how quickly the years have flown by when you see your children become adults and make those real adult decisions.  But, oh how the Navy will change them (for the better...)  My oldest son joined the Navy last October and he so different when it comes to sense of responsibility, timliness (sp.), cleanliness, etc., but he's still the same as far as his sense of humor, his personality, and everything else that makes him who he is.  He has grown up so much in the last year.  I also found that they realize and appreciate all you've done for them in the past.  In the first letter I got from boot camp, my son apologized for being difficult growing up and thanked me for putting up with him.  Talk about having to bring out the Kleenex!!!  You're in for a rollercoaster ride, but it will be a good one and give you a young man that has an apprceciation for the mother you are and the person you helped him become.

Hugs!!

I hear you Thetwoj! Mt husband and I were just talking and wondering if his doing ok. I am wishing the time away so I can get my first letter / phone call.....

Yesterday was the longest day in the history of the world! I told my boss that if the next 9 weeks moves as slowly as yesterday moved I'm going to hang myself (just kidding, I'm a bit of a drama queen). Yikes, tic toc, tic toc.

My son left for boot camp on the 26th of sept. We are from washington state. What an adjustment.

My son left also on the 26th.  Have you heard anything from your son yet. I am from Orange County.  Where are you from?
