Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 343 & 344. These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the main wall to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My kids got their first letter from big brother too and they were really excited about it!  I agree that it's great to hear their humor finally come through in this weeks letters.

no letters today...maybe tomorrow

It has been taking til Friday for me to get my letters, but I was SO EXCITED when i opened the mailbox to find a letter and the questionaire! He sounds so good and actually had his sense of humor back too! He said the division got a flag for academic so far. I can't wait to see him on 10-19-12! So is this week hell week?
Yay, always a great feeling to open the mailbox and see their handwriting! Yep, this week is hell week.

Im new to group, My son is Res on ship 14 div. 343, what is hell week???  I agree about the handwriting!!  SO exciting!!!!

Thanks I can't keep up on how they are counting the weeks. lol

Awesome on the academic flag!  My SR was really slacking off in high school the past couple of years but has been studying Very hard for each of these tests (and doing really well)  The right motivation is a wonderful thing!  Don't think they get much sleep during hell week.  I bet they are all exhausted.

I think their hell week starts during week 5 or 6....I'm thinking week 6.

What is it??  I've never heard of hell week, Does anyone know what happens???

Got the coin for USS Arizona today.  It is really nice and shipped fast.  I just ordered it a few days ago.  I think it will make a nice gift and not very expensive.

Mama5r not sure exactly what all happens during hell week other than what I read on the what happens at bootcamp day by day page, but did read  a post on the 10/12/12 PIR group page that during that week they only slept 10-3 each night.  That in itself would make it a bad week for me!

Enjoy the weekend everyone.

Just got a call from my SR!!!!! He sounded so good!!! He is doing very well in his achievements!! He thinks he got sharpshooter!!!  Pictures on Monday and several tests!! I lost the call within 3 minutes of talking to him!! I cried my eyes out!! But then he called back and said his calling card ran out! So them tears dried up quickly!! Hope everyone else gets their call today!!!

We got a call too.  Said they earned time because had a great inspection.  Got to divide time between Taco Bell, phone, and facebook.  Their division got 4 flags this week also.  TammieB  I have to wonder is something is going on with the calling cards or if they use extra min on pay phones (haven't used a calling card in years) because my son also called my sister to talk to his cousins and after talking just a few minutes the voice said "you have 1 minute left" on the calling card and he had used less than 1 hr of the time on the card.  I think my neice just jumped on FB to communicate instead so all's well and he has another card if he ever earns more calls.
