My son left on 9/27/12 left for boot camp. I have been pretty sad, but as time goes by I know it will get easier. Looking for other Moms who's son's or daughter's left at this time. Hoping to get the box on Monday and a letter soon with address! How are you other moms holding up?

mapjap - That is so wonderful about how you feel about your bf PIR. I wish you and your SR the best.
@ mabjap - my son left from San Diego the day before yours. What Div is he in? I have not received any letter yet. Tomorrow is week 3 so I am hoping I will get one tomorrow
debnchris,
My boyfriend is in Ship 3, Div 018. I haven't received a letter yet either. He left from Pensacola, FL on September 26th for MEPS, but left New Orleans for Boot Camp the 27th. I ran to my mailbox today only to find junk mail. :/ But I know they'll write to us as soon as they can!
debnchris, you should be getting aletter today if you have not already. I think Thursday will be your mail day! If anyone is a member of facebook there is a site on there that you can add your SR's address for people to write. I have been writing to many everyday from the list. It is important that every SR is getting mail! So, check it out. It's calle. Calls from home/letters from home. Praying everyone gets mail this week. My son is on ship 03 Div. 018 too! I got a letter on Tuesday!
I have finally received my first letter from my son. All in all he sounded pretty good. He said that he is so motovated to finish this and he has a good attitute! So proud!
proudnavymom12 I am so glad to hear that you got a letter and it was positive. that makes me feel better.. I am crossing my fingers that I get a letter today too.
proudnavymom12 thank you for the words about me getting my letter today. You will for sure know if I do. I have too been writting to other SRs.
@debnchris
I don't know how his GF could stand to wait this long to not write to him! I can barely go a day without writing to my boyfriend and feel guilty when I get home from a really long day and end up falling asleep before I write him a letter. I've fallen asleep half way into the letter before and finished it the next morning because I was exhausted. However I finally received a letter yesterday and it was just filled with love. He wrote out "You are my sunshine" at the end of the letter and I couldn't help but smile. He said he hasn't received my letters yet, but he misses me and that I mean the world to him. But not to cry and that he apologizes for not calling me when he got there (he called his mom, but I told him to call his mom first so I didn't expect him to call me at all). He then told me that he's flying out on the day of graduation so he doesn't want me to come see him graduate, but I think that Capt. Dye has not informed the SRs that they are getting liberty Wednesday and Thursday and then flying out on Friday. On Capt. Dye's Facebook post it has specified that all SRs with A school not in Great Lakes get liberty those days. I mailed him a letter talking about how confusing this is so we'll see if this gets resolved. But my travel plans are set because I am already in deep just by asking for the days right before Black Friday off. If I have any flight cancelations due to weather on Thanksgiving I'm going to lose my job, but I know of some places that would be willing to hire me again if anything happens. I hope you get your letter soon!! They've had it rough, but it sure does make them appreciate all your love and support!!
mabjap I received a letter yesterday, short but a letter. Today I received a CALL. I was so happy, he was very concerned about his GF and I assured him that she was still his GF. He said that he had not heard from her. I told him that I knew for sure that she did write one letter to him. Then he called her after he talked to me. She felt sooooo bad Now she is going to write EVERYDAY. He loves the pics that I send him. Keep up the good work writting your SR and Support his efforts.. God Bless the both of you.
That's so exciting that you received a call! I haven't gotten one yet, but I hear that they're coming soon! I'm so glad that he got to talk to his girlfriend and that she finally understands how much he really needs her support through bootcamp with letters. :) God bless your family and your SR and his girlfriend too!
