Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 027 & 028
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Welcome to the division discussion group!
OK, I don't want to whine but I haven't received the form letter yet. I do have his address and I have been sending letters out since last week. I just feel like I am missing out on something.
He left October 3rd, I received "the" call early on the 4th and the package on the 9th. We are in Washington State, I wouldn't think it would take this long to get the form letter. It's all good. I have his address and have since the 10th. I got one of those need to send me phone calls with his address. Boy am I glad he forgot something or I might still be waiting to get the address.
I just found this discussion Bernadette, our SR & your SR shipped out to BC together & you sent me some wonderful pictures...They are in the same ship & division! So glad! I have been sending letters daily, but have not received any yet. Also no calls yet. A sailor friend at church, who recently went through BC & A school told me not to worry & that it may be well into the 4th week until we hear anything. He reassured me that all is well & that they are just busy. I'm so glad they are in the same group!
Yes, we booked our hotel today. Right now we are planning to drive up (4 of us) & are very excited! I did get a letter from Travis today that was written last Sunday. It appeared that he only had limited time to write & get it in the mail. He says he is fine! He says sometimes it is very intense. That they are all learning to work together. He says the food is incredible & like a hotel buffet! It was so good to hear from him, as I was hearing that others were getting letters...I guess my mail day will always be Thursday. He says the Commanding Officer is one of the best around & pretty funny too. He says there are 92 people in his section. He asks if his older brother is still a "FATSO"? and then says (YES). Whew, I was really wanting to hear from him! I hope you got good mail also Bernadette!
My son is in Ship 13 Div 28. I am counting the days until PIR. I have heard that it is an unbelievable experience!
I've heard the same! I can't wait. I already booked my room, and started planning out what I'm going to wear! Haha. It makes the time go a little faster with the planning.
Ah yes. I booked our room too. The Navy Lodge is such a good deal. Are you planning on going to Sarge's Meet and Greet Thursday evening?
It all depends. I have to work that Thursday, and I could get out anywhere from really early that day, to late (6:30pm). It all depends on my employers (yay for being a nanny.. lol) Anyway it's a 6 hour drive for me, so if I get there on time, then I would go to Sarge's, if not, well I probably won't get there until 11:30 (yay for gaining an hour in time) and probably go straight to bed =)
No Bernadette, but you do need to book the room under your sailor's name. It's cheap and I hear that there is no tax. They also send you with a bag breakfast the morning of PIR.
@Jennifer -where are you driving from?
