Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

passports
does anyone know how I can get a passport quickly for me and my daughter(3yrold). I know USPS will expedite and it takes 2-3 weeks to get them, but is there any way I can get it faster than 3 weeks because our orders dont even give us that long. We just got paper orders yesterday with the dates for our overseas move and we didnt realize the Navy does not even give 30 days for us to pack and go :/

I have heard you can get them in a day if you go to wherever they issue them. For us that is in San Francisco....I've not done it personally.

Hi, I know that State Department issues emergency passports (takes 24-48 hrs). Many, many years ago my family got them within a day to leave the US and attend a funeral in Europe. Pls try this link, it has a phone number you can call to find ut where near you, you can go. http://www.ehow.com/how_7514963_emergency-passport.html. I hope this helps.

You can go to the closest federal building that issues the passport and get it the same day. I personally went to the one closest to where I lived, which was 2 hrs away at the time, and received it the same day. And it wasn't an emergency passport.

I was also told we can get one through the PSD on base, but the wait is 3-4 weeks :/ too long.

There is a number you can call and ask them, I do know that you can go into some office like in Los Angeles and get it quicker than that!

When we paid the expitidted fee in Hawaii we got in in a week. There is contact info on the link for them also. I am sure a call will help you out. We are also in Jacksonville. Well Middleburg. LOL

so am I. Middleburg. so funny. small world. There is no way I can go to Miami :Z I am willing to pay fee for expedite but with USPS they still say 2-3 weeks :/
You applied through this agency(Miami) or through Post Office expedite?

I did post office expedite when we got ours. My oldest son is stationed her at NAS JAX he is AT.

I'd skip any option that includes the mail. do the in-person options everyone else outlined below. I think the emergency link shown below might be better than this one that I found - but I think this link will guide you in how to make that in-person appt.

You can get a passport quickly by applying at directly at a processing center and paying the expedite fee. This is NOT the same as going to the USPS which is an acceptance center. Here is the link to the site:

There's info there for if you're leaving in less than two weeks. We called for an appointment for my son and picked up the passport in a couple working days. Call to schedule at the closest site. Complete all the paperwork and bring your certified birth certificates, IDs, forms, passport photos. You'll be good to go.
