For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 029 & 030
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Wow that is cool... now I have to wonder if my dad was ever on your sub lol he did a sea trial on my husbands ship (the Texas) before my husband and I met :)
I think my son is leaning toward fast attack but knows it is all up to the needs of the navy!

Update: ellen for some reason I don't have you added as a friend. What I was going to tell you is I have an extra Triton coin that I don't need. I design all the boot camp coins for a company that sells them on ebay. Before they mint them, they have me inspect them to make sure they are correct. The sample I don't need it, so pm me your address and I can send it to you to give to your son. I have one extra Triton coin, and it's useless to me. The least I can do to a fellow admin....Woo-hoo!

Hi, my son is in Ship 12 Div 29. He left on 10/04. We have recieved the "kid in a box" and the form letter, now just waiting for a "real" letter! We are a military family, so we "kinda" know the drill, but like my son said - "Mom, things change, you were in the Navy like 50 years ago!" a bit of an exaggeration! ( I was in from 84 - 90 , his dad was in from 73 - 04 ) Things are so different being on this end. Makes me realize what I put my poor mother through!! Has anyone else found it odd that the training group still has question marks as far as the last division in this group and there has not been a new training group formed in two weeks?

Hi linda welcome to the group :) I have noticed that they havn't confirmed the TG on the bootcamp website too. Also i haven't really seen anyone on here whose sr left after the 5th. I have seen a few who are ready to go soon but it is a little weird.
I am waiting for a real letter too if not today probably next week

Hi Linda, welcome to the group. Military family here also (76-96). I've found that knowing the drill from the other side hasn't helped a bit on this side :-(
I still haven't received the form letter, hopefully its in today's mail. I think we're safe on the PIR date if that's what is on the form letter. I've also noticed that there were a lot of SRs reporting dates moved up to the 10/1 - 1/4 timeframe, my son's included.
