Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 023 & 024

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

No letter in Atlanta, Texas   :(      I am really hoping they get to write tomorrow.  I guess that would put us getting letters Wednesday or Thursday.  I am writing her almost everyday...but it seems like I am running out of things to talk about.  I  hate to put mushy we miss you so much type stuff in there because I don't want to upset her.  Just keep telling her how proud we are and how I know she can do this.

I know exactly what you mean.  I have been writing to my niece every day because she told me to.   I just tell her what is going on, how the weather is, what is going on on t.v.  I really want to know if she has made any friends, if she is scared, if she is getting rest but I do not want to upset her or make her sad.  I have not heard from her I am in WV and her parents havent either in TN.  Just trying to stay positive and support my sister.

Hi Ellen,

My name is Ann & my son is on Ship 12 Div. 024, so thanks for this sight!  This web site has been very helpful.  So much information!  Unfortunately when I first got on the sight I joined the main group using mine & my sons last name as my user name in error.  Oops!! How do I change this?  I would really like to contribute to some of the conversations but don't want to until I get this corrected.  I am very new to all of this so any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Ann...go to the top right of page.  You will see a box with your name, then sign out, inbox alerts, friends and settings.  Click on settings and it will allow you to change your user name.

Thanks Yvonne!!

Guess I'm still worried all I can dream of is the millitary so I awoke at 3am today been up every since. It's hard not talking to them.
Here's to another day stalking the mail carrier :)

Didn't work.  But I did get some avocados from my mom!  Lots of guacamole in my house this week!  Just trying to upbeat and positive.  No news is good news (not)

Well, I guess this starts week 3 of no word from our kiddos.  REALLY REALLY REALLY hoping they got to write yesturday.  If they did, we should be getting them around Weds or Thurs.  I so want to hear that she is fine and that they are coming together as a team....and that she is making friends...although, I got to thinking...she will stay in GL for A school.  One of her friends, a young lady she met BEFORE boot camp and is in same DIV will be leaving for FL.  How do they get each others address when they won't KNOW their address until they get there?  or do you just say goodbye to the people who have become such a part of your life for 8 weeks and move on?  That's just a sad thought.....

You can bet that they will trade email and cell numbers before they leave.  After BC that will be the only way they will keep in touch.  I'm not sure my son has ever written a letter to anyone other than his great grandmother now that I think about!

I  hope this is the week for a letter!! Just read on the main 11/30 PIR page that our SR's get to leave the base for Thanksgiving. That's wonderful. It looks like every recruit gets to take one other SR with them off base. I hate the thought of my SR spending Thanksgiving "alone", but definitely can't afford to go twice within a week. Hoping he gets to go off base with another family to enjoy the day. :(

OH WOW....that does kind of put a damper on everything.  I hope Linds gets to get off base with anther SR.  We are 12 1/2 hrs away...there is NO WAY we can get up there.
