Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 801 & 802!!!

It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

yep, I missed the helmet change myself. I knew the colors changed, but couldnt tell you which is which.

I got them all right, but I have an unfair advantage.  I know what color helmet my sons has now, what color he gets next week, that left only one.

I hope everyone has received their letters by now? Looks like weekly mail call for all us parents will be on Thursdays or Fridays. I was so relieved to get that 1st letter! Felt the weight of the world was lifted. Sleeping better now too!. Sounds like the boys are having some fun!! (NOT) LOL.........

Can you elaborate for those of us who haven't heard a word yet? Are they getting worked?

I'm with Jack~ could you all share a bit.  I don't know if Sundays are better or not- you know the mail isn't coming, but I sure hope that also doesn't mean that we know to expect nothing until Thurs or Fri.  I can say that I am getting very good at replying "no news is good news" when everyone asks if I've heard from him.

Good thing we have eachother.  If we can't talk to our SR then at least we can talk to eachother :).

It's nice to see I am not the only one not getting a letter. But he warned me before he left that he might not be writing.

He wasnt too specific, however sounds like the hours are crazy and the sleep time isnt much. They are definately getting worked physically and mentally. He also said the food was pretty good and that no matter how much information people told him about what to expect before he left, he was still not prepared for it! I guess he better get use to it as this is going to be a cake walk compared to whats to come!

My SR said the same thing.

sjtina.... this group (800 division) consists of candidates for SWCC, EOD, Rescue Swimmers, Navy Divers and SEALS, does this mean all of these guys also go to PRE-BUDS? I know the guys with the SEAL contracts will, but wasnt sure about the rest. Sorry, I just dont remember ever seeing this question or answer.

Tina can chime in, but i believe only SEAL candidates go through BUD/S. As far as BUD/S Prep goes ( or Pre-BUD/S ) I think that is the same case. Each rating has their own training pipeline, for example- the Rescue Swimmers would leave for their training in Pensacola right after Boot Camp is over. Not sure about SWCC--- they have a Prep School also, and though the all end up on Coronado at some point for training, I think their "Prep" (AIP---Awaiting Instruction Phase) is 6 weeks long versus 8-10 weeks of "prep" (NSW-- Naval Special Warfare Preparatory School) for SEAL candidates at Great Lakes.

yes, only SEAL candidates go to PreBuds. SWCC will stay in GL for only few weeks before leaving for SD.

After PIR, you will only get to spend about 20 minutes with your sailor. He then has to pack up to move over to PreBuds. You will get a phone call a few hours later to come back and pick him up. He can then have his cellphone, laptops, etc. They have to be back each night, each division in the past has been different, my son was 8:00, but I have heard 9:00 for some.

Thanks sjtina and Jackflash............I wasnt sure how many from the two 800 divisions were moving over to PRE-BUD/S there in GL. This gives me an idea.
