Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 353-354.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the main wall to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son, also 354... called Saturday, I missed the call. But he did get to talk to his girlfriend. She said he sounded good, but tired.. He said the Division is getting better and better every day!

Camcammom, Good thoughts to you and your son. They are all more capable than even us moms could imagine! :) I am hoping these next few weeks fly by! I can't wait to hug my son, and see his face.

Have a great Monday! :)

kkbmom, thanks I needed to hear that today, I know that he is capable!!!  I think I am just at the finishing line waiting to see him finish the race!!!  I know that getting through this is going to be one of the toughest things he has ever had to do in his life, up to this point that is!!!  I just want to see him win this!!!  Also, very concerned about him being sick!!  Sorry it's just the mamma in me, I don't think I will ever change!!!  I just want to give him a big hug and kiss as well!!!  Lol:)

To be honest.... I've been an emotional wreck since September 4th!! LOL. I just try to tell myself that now is the time he's going see about himself everything i've already known. To say I miss him..... Is the hugest understatement of all time. He is my oldest son, my first to leave the nest, and while the majority of my heart and mind is glad he is starting his adult life, the rest of me just wants him back!!! :)

I hope your son feels better soon! Sending good vibes!!!! :)

We're at the finish line together!!! (i'm the one biting my nails!!! LOLLOLOLOLO) :)

kkbmom, haha, thanks!!! I needed to hear that I am not the only one happy that he is starting his adult life, but the mom in me is also wanting him to come back home!!!  I go back and forth each day with this emotion!!!  Thanks for sending good vibes out to my son, I do the same for your son and the other SR's!!!   Also thanks for putting it into words about he's going to see about himself everything I have already known!!!  Love that;)))))  Glad I have other mothers who feel the exact same way as I do, I just thought I was crazy!!!  Haha!!!  Lol

Hi harsheykiss, I received a letter from my son last week, but you have to remember the letters you receive may not be from that week, I only get mail from him on Thursdays and he has different dates on all his letters.  He even sometimes has different dates on one letter!!!  I know they are in gods hands and he is taking care of them all and guiding them through this time!!  I think it is harder on the mothers than it is on are boys!  My son even told me that he is doing a lot better about feeling homesick, and even has good days!!  I know they are all making friendships that will last a life time, and helping each other to succeed!!!  I miss my son with all my heart and I pray for him every night, and yes sometimes I just have to let it all out and cry!!  But at the end of the day I have to keep reminding myself that I will see him soon, and he is becoming a man who will be very successful in life and one day be able to have a family of his own!!!  Hang in there, I know your son is not mad at you I am sure that he understands and knows how muchyou love him!!!  Hugs to all the mothers!!!

Hi harsheykiss, sorry about that, I was wrong assuming you are a mother to your SR!!  It does not matter who we are to our SR's, they are all someones brother, uncle, son, boyfriend, cousin, etc..  At the end of the day we are all equally worried and only want the best for all of them!!!  He is a lucky man to have you love and care for him while he is going through all of this....I wish you both much happiness!!!  He is blessed that you will be with him on graduation, and I am sure his family will be with him in spirit!!  My husband, our daughter, and I will be flying out to Chicago from Denver!!  We will try and attend the meet and greet at Sarge's!  Will you be attending any of them?  Hope to be able to finally put some faces to all the wonderful women I have met on this site!!!  I pray these next couple of weeks fly by, cause I am not sure how much more of this I can take!!!  Have a great week!

I'm sure everything is fine, harsheykiss! My son is in that division also and he told me they are so much improved from where they started. Their RDCs are stressing that if one struggles, they all need to step up to help that one-that may mean they don't get as many calls home or letters sent, but when this phase of training is done, they will all be strong, conscienscious Sailors! Also, he said their entire division passed their weapons test! Good job, 03/354! Hang in there, Mom....you'll be huggin' his neck very soon!!!

Other than the I've arrived call on 9/4 - we haven't heard our SRs voice either.. his letter last thurs said he tried to call but no answer.. :-( which was very disappointing, and he didn't leave a voicemail! UGH.  I know this Div started out slow, but the RDC's are doing their jobs well to pull together a team - one for all... so we just have to have faith, and know that we'll all be at PIR sooner than soon!!!

Harsheykiss... My son said his bunk-mate is 35! Is this the age of your SR? He told me that 354 has men aged 35-to just turning 18, that's a big leap! My son also said they are getting better and better everyday! And that the RDC's are doing a good job of bringing them together! :)
That would make a small world even smaller! :) Well, if it is the same guy, my son thinks very highly of him!

Our plane doesn't get in until 7:30pm in the first so I don't think we'll be able to make the M&G, I was really hoping to have a chance to meet you all in person. Without you all on N4M & FB, I would be lost.

I was hoping to get some inside info, on what gate and such to drive to at PIR, Where the best place to park is etc. I've planned the trip there, now i'm drumming my fingers just waiting, waiting, waiting for it to be Nov. 1st already, so we can get a move on!!!! :):):):):)

Happy Tuesday!!!!
We are staying at the Courtyard in Wakegan (sp?) We have rented a car, I was hoping to make it to the meet and greet to be able to sign up for a shuttle with Sarge. But the way it is looking we'll be lucky to make to the hotel by 9ish. I thought the shuttle was only if you were staying at Navy Lodge? Are you staying at Navy Lodge? Thanks HK! :)

my bf is in div354 so excited about PIR
