My son just called and said he found out when stand down is.  Any suggestions from peeps in the know as far as purchasing tickets to fly home...airlines that offer military discounts...who is the best airline to fly with?  (Can't imagine flying over the holidays:/  Would love to hear from you!

You can go pretty much any where on base except for the barracks

but on his non-duty days, he's allowed to do anything as long as he goes back to his barracks by midnight? (assuming he's phase 3 by then, which is the plan)

and he'll have weekend liberty from friday (what time?) to sunday midnight? not quite sure how weekend works for phase 3....

do you know if he'll need a liberty buddy to sign out during the day during stand down or will i be able to sign him in and out?

sorry for all the questions! but thanks for all the answers! =)

If you are gonna be in GL couldn't he take leave and stay with you?

he's gonna take a day or 2 of leave while i'm there but he'd rather "save up" his leave days for when he's going to be coming home so that he can be home for as long as possible

He can sign out with you. Its a four day weekend  but he will have duty one of those days but the others he will be off for. Glad we can help.

They will remain in four sections since we will reduce down to only two barracks open. There are two four day weekends so they will be off 22-25 Dec and 29 Dec - 1 Jan. The 26-28 are normal work days so they will have to get some things done those days.  I hope that helps

Yes all this helps so much! =)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Will his duty section still be the same as it is now? If it stays the same, will I be able to mark every 4 days on my calendar to figure out exactly what days his duty days will be?

Probably!

awesome! thanks! =)

Although you already know, things change, so maybe he won't be on the same rotation... just don't make plans which cannot be changed.  If everyone on the same duty section stays then they will have to switch it up.

Semper Gumby.  (Always flexible)

We will know all of that by Thanksgiving but there may still be changes.  We try to keep that to a minimum so people can make plans.
