Please do not ask another member to ask their recruit to add any guests to their Access List. This is against RTC Policy and has been addressed on their FB page several times in the last month...so I thought it would bear repeating on here.

I say repeating because it has been addressed on this site as early as 2008:

http://www.navyformoms.com/profiles/blogs/admin-update-members-must...

This an excerpt from the link above that addresses this:

Hello N4M Members!
Important stuff here and I need everyone to read it. We’ll be enforcing some new rules starting today per direction of the Navy. No need to get upset or panic… okay? I like to call this the growing pains of getting bigger and needing to become a bit stricter about a few things.

1. So, Navy saw it as a breach of security on N4M’s when members were telling other members how to bend and break the rules (IE get into PIR w/o a parking pass). Thus, any tricks like that can’t be talked about. We don’t want to jeopardize the safety of our recruits. This also includes, “I have more than 4 people that want to attend PIR”. If we see that question- the response should be something like:
“Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL is the homeport for all Navy recruit training. If you have specific questions regarding Boot Camp, Pass-in-Review (graduation) or a recruit, please visit http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/family/index.html.  (This link does not work...here is the correct one:  http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/index.asp )If you cannot find the answer there, please phone RTC Public Affairs on 847-688-2405 or email on rtc.pao@navy.mil.”

Thanks for all of the information.  My husband will be coming regardless and of course he wants to attend the pir.  Maybe he can just show up with me and leave if he can't get on a list.  I guess we will have to see.  Her recruiter just mentioned that to her so I was wondering if it was true...lol.  Thanks again.

Yes, thanks.  He is willing to wait in the hotel.  He knows he is last man on the totem pole, after her parents and sister and myself....lol

:-( ...lots are as they just want to see their loved one. We are all hoping that this will only apply to large PIR's...so waiting to find out if this is going to be for ALL future PIR's as far as no extra guests.

But then I just realized that you are IN a large PIR. This is the first 15 Division PIR that I have ever seen. RTC FB has stated that NO extras will be allowed:

Facebook friends, an announcement for 30 NOV PIR: There will be FIFTEEN divisions graduating Nov. 30th. RTC is abiding by the policy that Active Duty/military retirees and children twelve and under do not count toward the 4 invitations each recruit receives. However, if an individual is not on the access list they will NOT be able to enter the drill hall (NO stand by). Please plan on arriving at least two hours before the ceremony, which begins promptly at 9 a.m. Thanks to all for your continued support of Recruit Training Command, the Navy's only boot camp!
My son in law is in the air force so does that mean he can attend? What about my daughter, she has a military id but isnt in the air force. Does that mean she has to be on the list? Shes going to be traveling from texas for this and i want to make sure she doesnt travel for nothing. :)

If your son-in-law is Active Duty he does not have to be on the Access List and does not count towards the maximum number of guests. He justs needs a valid ID.

Your daughter, is that his wife? Dependent ID? Those with dependent ID's MUST be on the Access List.

Veterans who are NOT retired (served but did not do the 20 years for retirement) MUST be on the Access List.

Here is the link to RTC's Website Page with Informaton on Active Duty Military Personnel/Retirees:

http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/ad_military_retirees.asp

It provides info on the Access list, dress and protocol for PIR for servicememebrs.

NO extra guests will be allowed at any PIR. No standby's.

The Nov 30 PIR will only allow the four on the Access List entry to PIR. For this PIR, children 3 and over and Active/Retire Duty Military MUST be on the Access List and count towards the maximum of four.

~The December 21st and 28th PIR the 12 and under and Active/Retired Military (all with valid ID) do not have to be on the Access List and do not count towards the maximum of four.

~Begininning with the January 4 PIR  children 3 and over and Active/Retire Duty Military MUST be on the Access List and count towards the maximum of four.
