Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 021 & 022

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son sounded so different. He too got emotional when I told him looks like we are going to make PIR after all :)

I got a call from my SR about an hour ago! I was so happy to hear his voice. I ran out of class so fast! He told me he has gotten some letters but most of them are still in ship 03. He had to hang up because Div 021 was coming in to do their phone calls. But 6 minutes was better than nothing!

so your SR is in DIV 022. So is my son. where is your SR going to A school?

I'm still not sure where he is going. Before he left he didn't know. Where is your son going? Do you know what locations are possible?

he is going to Pensacola. He is doing Aviation Electronics. he said his rack mate was also going to Pensacola and went to MEPS at NOLA so just trying to figure out whose SR it may be. :)

Awe I don't think that is my SR. He went to MEPS in El Paso where we are from. He said he might go to Pensacola but he wasn't sure. Also my SR said that his rack mate is the Mail PO i'm not sure what that means though.

My SR (div 021) called his dad today.

Got a letter and phone call today! My SR sounds really depressed.  He wants to come home and be with us, yet he still wants to graduate. He is really on an emotional rollercoaster right now.  Which does not help my rollercoaster at all!  He said that everytime he reads a letter, it makes him homesick but at the same time, he doesn't want us to stop writing. I just wish I could be there to support and encourage him in person!

He also had his wisdom teeth pulled. Very heavy medication, especially for someone who doesn't take much medicine.

Missed his call!

I didn't have my ringer up loud enough and I missed his call! I was at work and had it on low volume :( I am broken hearted! He left a message, but I couldn't really understand it. He was able to contact his dad in FL. He told me he sounded a bit upset at first, but then was ok. I will keep my phone on high volume in my classroom from now on. My students will understand!

My SR called. I answered it at work and got written up for it, but I dont even care. He sounds so sick and depressed. He's had a cold since he got there and had the stomache flu last weekend. They have only gotten the letters for ship 04. My Sr has recieved the 1st two i sent with the new address. So far none from ship 03 have made it. He said they are started week 3 day one tomorrow. He also told me he couldnt do thanksgiving? I dont know what that means.

Thank you thank you for the info! I thought my SR just called his dad. Found out a few hours later he tried to call me though my cell didn't ring and I didn't have a missed call. I found out because he then called my mom who didn't answer and left a message saying he tried to call me. Luckily after that he did get through to his dad. I am devastated  I know it probably broke his heart, he has been talking about that call nonstop. And of course his dad did not think to ask if he was getting mail or if he had sent the thanksgiving form home or not.

I'm just really glad that I can be at least almost sure he is getting my ship 04 mail because that would have been really bad if he was getting no mail and I didn't answer his call.

Do you know what dates you sent the first two letters?

I read somewhere that sometimes letters with the wrong address don't get to them until 3 weeks before PIR.

I have numbered my letters, and My fiance just told me he had gotten letter 15 and 16, and I asked if those were ship 03 or 04, he said 04. So I'm assuming those were the ones i sent on the 18th/19th, when i got his new letter saying that to send to ship 04. I let him know that i had sent around 20 so far and to let everyone know we ALL have been sending letters non stop and i told him we have all been worrying about the letters. After that we didnt talk much about the group as a whole though just about things with me and him. I'm so happy, i was able to tell him to start writing to my moms address so i can still get the letters. I wont be missing any letters :) This info is just for 021 though, sorry 022ers
