Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 019 & 020

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Lorilee im sorry your son is having a hard time. My son is with your son so maybe they are friends. He gets along with everyone. Hoping his son has his personality and disposition. He is a good kid. He is young but was raised to have manners and treat nice. Glad you finally heard from him

Oh Rosie I hope they are friends and if they are not I am sure they will be by the time they graduate. My SR has not been with the division very long maybe a week tomorrow. So it takes time. He really likes his new division a lot!!

I got letters today which made me happy but also sad. My daughter said she should get to call on Wednesday (yesterday) unless the division got in trouble, but we never got a call. Seems like most others in the division got to call so I'm not sure why she didn't get to. :( It wouldn't be so bad not to get to talk to her, but of course a momma worries why she didn't get to call - is she sick, get hurt, get in trouble, etc? She mentioned in her letter that she is having some problems with her hip. Otherwise she seems to be doing good - so I am thankful for that. She misses us and sent us the adopt a sailor form for Thanksgiving, but we live so far away there just isn't any way we can go for Thanksgiving and graduation - so we chose graduation - I hope she won't be too disappointed since we didn't know they would have the option to spend Thanksgiving with us. I hate that they can't send letters everyday. Still hoping for a phone call soon.

Don''t feel too bad TMM there are lots of us who can not get there for both. I really don't have the money to go to PIR either but I will make it happen but unfortuately Thankgiving is not gonna happen for us either. TMM your daughter may just have had watch so try not to worry too much. I didn't hear from my son for 5 weeks no letters nothing. so I know how it is hold tight to those letters the call will come. Navy hugs...

Yes Lori Lee she is married to my son and they have a beautiful son who my son tells me in his letter he misses badly, he misses his whole family. He is hanging in there

I thought sooooo I am such a great detective lol just kidding

I got a phone call!!!! :D It was so good to talk to her. It took a few minutes to be able to understand her because she started crying when I answered the phone. I kept asking her if she was ok and she kept saying yes and I said are you sick and she said no and I said are you crying and she said yeah, I just miss you. She was on watch when everyone else got their calls on Wednesday. Which I guess turned out to be in our favor because we got to talk for over an hour!! This is one happy momma today! :D:D:D

So glad to hear she was finally able to call. My daughter was able to call several people, but not her twin brother cuz he's in Guam & she didn't have his number yet. He misses her alot.

See good things come to those who wait.

Hey Lori lee my daughter is in this division. She's the mail po and the medical yeoman. I know that guys & gals cannot associate with each other too much, but knowing my daughters perception of people I'm sure if they can talk they r getting along as friends. She is an amazing judge of character.

Thanks I did get a letter finally after 5 1/2 weeks and he clearly said that they do not dear talk to the girls which I think is sad but i am sure they have their reasons. My SR said that several guys were getting sent back due to talking to a girl...yikes.
