While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 04 (USS Arleigh Burke) Divisions 801 & 802 (Brother Divisions)
Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 801 & 802!!!
It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.
Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).
sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.
Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.
We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Aw Michie, I am so glad you finally heard from him. I got my phone call the other night, it was funny, I was at work on a fire channel, saw the area code and started yelling get my channel, get my channel! Fortunately all my co-workers were aware of the situation and backed me up. I got to talk to him for like 20 minutes! He also hates the lack of work out time. Sounds good though, like hee is in his element. We live on a farm, so he is used to sunshine and fresh air, said they are always inside and its killing him.

I got a phone call from my son in 802 last night as well. He sounded tired, but said they are finally coming together as a team. It was so nice to hear his voice. I was in the middle of a meeting at work, saw the area code, and ran out of the room. I only got a few minutes this time because he had to call his dad too, but it made my day! I can't wait until we get to see him again. :)

I was really hoping for a call today too, but sigh.....
It's probably good the number didn't pop up while I was at work. Who knows what kind of trouble I might have got in for running away!

WE got a call from my 802 SR yesterday about 5pm their time also. Was sooo great to talk to him. Have started receiving letters too. He knew nothing about the Thanksgiving papers for liberty or Adopt a Sailor so told him to ask and get them in the mail to me so I can go. Its sooo exciting to see everybody getting calls and letters. The info I see here is about the same he is telling me.

You are the luckiest girl Katherine--- good for you! I'd resigned myself to the idea that they only get to mail out on Sunday/Monday, but you give me hope that any day might be a letter day.
801 and 802 might seem distinct right now, but these fellas will all be training together in the days ahead. It's great getting to know so many of you.

My sailor is in 802. His call came about 5:30 for about 8 minutes yesterday their time. He also is complaining about the lack of sunshine and being allowed outside, @countrymom. He is a hunter and not being able to hunt this fall is killing him. I am so proud of him though

We recd a letter today too. Written 10-21; postmarked 10-22. Has been a great week since we also had the Wed phonecall. He also said they get hardly any fresh air except to march. Sounded very appreciative of home (thank you, USN!) which warms my heart!
SR said he was doing Adopt-a-Sailor. Am I understanding this correctly: to do Adopt-a-Sailor, it's orchestrated for him there (i.e. no input needed from us) and he goes to someone's home for Thanksgiving dinner? The forms I hear others talking about are only if we were physically taking him off base for Thanksgiving? Just want to make sure I don't need to worry about a form.

My SR in 801 has sent the form letter and I got the standard phone call. The girlfriend who he has only known 2 months prior to shipping out got the call and the letters. It is really hard not to let the green eyed monster come out. I just don't know what to think. Her parents are sending her to graduation. I as just frustrated.

My SR intentially stayed away from any new relationships before going into boot camp because he wanted no distractions from training, but I would probably feel the same way. Guess we just have to support our SRs and realize it is just about them and do what we can to help them get through this phase so they can go on to the next. I think you'll find as the process goes on that he will become very appreciative of your support. The Navy has a way of doing that I think.
