What to do on his last couple days before boot camp?

Hey ladies. My boyfriend is leaving for the Great Lakes on December 4th. But what should we do on the last couple days we have together? And the day of, should I go to the airport with him and say good-bye? I feel like I'm going to be an emotional wreck :/ Like there'd be no point in going because I'll just be crying. I know it's important to spend all the time with him that I can, but I don't want him to feel bad or guilty for leaving. I want him to know I'm proud. But I can't help but cry when I think about it. I know I'm probably making it sound dramatic, sorry about that. I'm just sad that my best friend is leaving! :( Any advice? Thanks so much :))

Spend time together, but realize his family and friends will also want time with him.  Write a short note for him to put in his slim black wallet so he will have it to read in the days/weeks before he will receive mail.  As far as going to MEPS and/or the airport with him, that is up to him and his family.

You may want to join, or at least check out, Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors.

Is his mom a member of this site?  If not, let her know about it.  Also make sure that he and his mom check out Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for....

I don't want him to feel bad or guilty for leaving. Remember you statement.

Question is do you think he'll be better off going into the Navy or staying by your side. Look down the road, will this mean the two of you will have a better life together? or not?  Spend as much time w him as you can, then figure how to take care of yourself until he comes home on leave. Your best friend will be your best friend always even if you can't text each other 10 times a day.

My son just left last Thursday and I have to tell you it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do....He seemed soooo sad it made me sad even though I was excited for him so my being sad made him sadder....aughhhhhh...so so hard but we spent every last minute at meps telling him how proud we were of him and that helped him a lot....
Your boyfriend should keep his cell phone until they make them pack everything away at bootcamp..he can text & call during his entire trip...even his last call home can be done on his cell....that was good too!!! Good luck and be strong...
