Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 027 & 028

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I'm personally going to Sarge's, but that is ONLY if I get there in time. I am driving from Michigan, and I have to work that Thursday, so it depends on what time I can manage to get out of work. If I don't get off until my normal time, I won't be arriving until midnight! Hoping to get out early enough to make it to meet and greet, but we'll see! :)

You can also click on the yellow rolling balls at the top of the main page for Meet & Greet details.

I have a lot of family and friends from Colorado, we are staying at the Quality Inn. A lot of places have transport to and from the basefor PIR. I want to be able to go to a Meet and Greet. We are driving in from Michigan. It is 5 1/2 hours. I really wanted to take the train, but not sure of how to navigate to Waukegan from the train station. My hubby wants to drive. There are Express Busses from Ann Arbor also.

I copied this from someone's post... This is the job my son has.  He is the Starboard Watch Section Leader.

He said he doesn't get much sleep (not more than 5 hrs a night).  He said he stays super busy and it makes the time go by faster, He is really homesick, misses everyone and just being home.  I get to see him Thanksgiving and on graduation.

Can't wait..

Port and Starboard is the same exact name as civilians use for Left and Right. The easy way to remember is Port has 4 letters, so does left. So Port = Left.

In the barracks (ships) they have a left and right side also, so the head dude on the left side is called the Port Watch Section Leaders (PWSL), and the one on the right is called Starboard Watch Section Leader (SWSL). Their duties are as follows:

The Port/Starboard Watch Section Leaders are the senior Recruit Petty Officers for respective watch sections.

The Starboard Watch Section Leader (SWSL) shall serve as the division's watchbill coordinator. Watchbills will be prepared and subsequently submitted to the RDCs via the RCPO.

The Port Watch Section Leader (P

WSL) shall coordinate the rotation of the ship watchstanders with the RDCs.

Booked out flights and got our hotel, now for the rental car.  I am getting so excited.

Me too....I miss my son so much

Aloha everyone,

My request for membership has finally been improved! I waited a week!  :)

Anyway, I've received a total of 3 personal letters (and 1 DEERS, 1 PIR info), and three phone calls from my husband. The latest phone call was on October 30th which lasted about 7 minutes, and the latest letter came in last week and was written on October 28, 2012. There's still about 3 weeks left and I just can't wait to be with him! I'll be flying from Honolulu, Hawaii and will be spending the entire weekend with him. His job is AECF. Does anyone know if he has to report and/or return on base each night? I'd appreciate it!

Mahalo,

Marianne

msmarianem, your husband will have to be back on base and to his ship each night by approx 10pm (the time to return can vary).

Is your husbands going for the rate ET or FC do you know?

Hi ellen0502,

Thank you so much for your response. We still don't know whether his rate is FC or ET. I think they'll let him know right after BC.

He should get his orders sometime in the last week or so of BC that lets him know. I just wondered it you knew what he actually asked for, not that it is what he will actually get as the Navy puts them where they are needed.

My boyfriend has the same rate :)

Anyone else received a letter(s) today?? :)
