While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 04 (USS Arleigh Burke) Divisions 801 & 802 (Brother Divisions)
Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 801 & 802!!!
It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.
Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).
sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.
Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.
We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Countrymom I totally agree with meam.......very well said. Welcome to the military life ladies and gentleman. This may be the 1st you have gone without spending a holiday with your Sailor, however it wont be the last. When I joined back in 1987, I spent Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years in BC. We didnt have the adopt a sailor program then.1986 was the last holidays I spent with my family who were on the West Coast and I was on the East Coast. Since then I can count on one hand how many holidays I have spent with my family on the West Coast. It will be hard for everyone, but when all is said and done, its really worth it.

no letters yesterday but hoping today is the day. Countrymom you are right. That was my husbands first thought when i was moaning to him about our son being by himself for Thanksgiving. He said"This wont be the first holiday alone and he chose this life. He will get used to it". But then I am lucky to have had free miles to get there so this wont be his first holiday by himself without family but i know it will happen soon.

Did not get mail from my 801 SR today. Boo Hiss. Hopefully tomorrow.
RE the holiday comments, I am so grateful to the family that will have my son for turkey day. Even though he chose this life for himself and I know he will be fine, it's an adjustment for the rest of the family, too, to get over the end of an era of everyone being home. It was bound to happen whether it was this situation or he went off to college or met someone special, or whatever else! My SR is our firstborn, so it's a little more raw, I think. And yes, what truly matters is that we get to see each other some other day(s), no matter what it says on the calendar.

my sr is in 801 also.
my last letter was about one week ago. i know these next weeks will be tough on them. my sr is also my first born. this has been a big adjustment . i sure hope my sr gets invited for thanksgiving. we cant make it thanksgiving for we will be there the week after for graduation. i know my sr is fine, but when will i?

And so it continues. We are on the East Coast. My son in law came down on orders for Alaska. My daughter and grandsons will be leaving in February. The military life, not for the faint of heart!

I guess you could say we will all be getting our "Thanksgiving" when we all see our SR faces for the first time at PIR! The icing on the cake will be to get the hugs that we all need. Military life is new to us, but we will adjust, just hard because he is an only child. No letter this week, but we hope to get another one soon!

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only who didn't get mail. Makes me less worried. Is it possible they got in trouble again and that's why there's no mail?
