OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the discussion group for division 803.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Run2befree....I think you and I had a long talk the day of swearing in.  Question, did you have a younger son & newly engaged daughter with you? lol?

We are driving, from West Texas.  It will be 21 hours for us.

@emccambr did you son sound UP!  or DOWN?   Did the letter sound like him.   My son's letters did not sound like him and in places they did not make sense, like he was tired.

I wish I could call him and say..YOUR TOUGH, YOU CAN DO THIS!

oh Felicia.....just had a chance to read your entire post and i am teary again...i am sooooooooooo worried about our boyz ....ALL of them.......Conor also wants this sooooooooooooooooo badly.........wish i would get a letter !!!!!
xoxo n hugz

Oh..and he was down because he did not have any leadership roles.   He said he is just trying to stay under the radar.  I was thinking to myself, he is struggling and also down because he wants leadership roles, but seems to be struggling to survive.

I would just be worried about surviving.   I am just trying to furnish as much information to all you moms that have not heard from your son's what its like from the view of one of the recruits.

I am hoping that when you get your letters, they are a little more upbeat.

thank you Felicia...........i just trudged out in the snow to see if i missed a letter in the mailbox .................
yes i am on facebook myself and will go look now for the PIR group you mentioned and then maybe we can private message one another as you suggested..................
unfortunately i really have no one other than an elder bro in R.I..............
we were never close and he was a "meany" as a kid and age did not "improve" him....let me see if i can find the group...........i am hoping that the reason that Conor hasn't written ISN'T that he is too "down" or discouraged............
i didn't get to write him today but i have sent him a letter at least every other day.........
most of them just goofy notes, updates etc...with just a word of encouragement or 2 at the end.......

Jared did mention in his letter not to send anything to him to keep everything simple because they go thru them and he does not want to be punished or get his group punished because of something weird his mom sent him.

Thanks for the heads up on the going through the mail????

cant find that Facebook group .........................
let me know if you do !!!!!
i dont know who is who on Facebook ...............

Has anyone heard anything from any of our SR"s?   Goss this is hard not hearing anything, no letters yet.  I feel like a stalker of  FB, and the mailman lol!
