While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Ship 04 (USS Arleigh Burke) Division 803
Welcome to the discussion group for division 803.
Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).
sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.
Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.
We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Got our first letters today as well. I cannot say how awesome it was to see those letters in the mailbox. It would have to rank right up there with Christmas morning as Darlene said.

Got our first letter this week too and the 20 second phone call. Sure did make for a good week to hear his voice and to hear from him in writing. Every day is a new day and one step closer to completion of RTC. Worried about the sickness that I am reading about...but I guess no news is good news.
I am new to this group and look forward to chatting with you all. My son is in this div. as well for EOD.

Does anyone know if we can send, a notebook of paper for our guys. He ask for stamps, but it looked like he was useing scrap paper to write his letters on. But, he is an artiest and drawing on everything lol. He even drew us a picture on his return box...lol he is a jokester!

Did anyone else in this division get a letter from their son that said they were sick? My son was sick and he was down.
Not that I want everyone else's son's to be sick or down, but its comforting to know if some others are in the same boat.
I can't stand the fact he is sick and being pushed to his limits while he is sick. It worries me. He was hardly ever sick at home. He was so healthy. He said everyone was sick.

Good grif....My son gets a sore thoat so bad sometimes, he is the first in our house that does. But he never stops, he probly wouldn't even tell them he was sick, that's just how he roles. If he thought they would hold him back he wouldn't even let on. I know the weather is much different then what he is used to, we're from the South. He didn't say anything in his letters about being sick, so I'm still praying. I'll put your boys in there to, that's really all we can do for them right now. Girls, we sent our boys off to BC, when we see them in Dec....they'll be men, or really different people.

I have a question....thought I understood this topic, but now a few doubts. My SR's best friend is in the Navy, and has been for a few years. He is going to the PIR, along with his wife, and another friend of my SR. My SR is putting my husband, myself, and his 13yr brother on his list. Along with one friend....now heres the question....Does the "wife" get into PIR because she has an active military ID?

Yea! Booked my hotel. Thanks for the great info on Spring Hill Suites, Waukegan. After much research, this hotel by far got the best reviews with a decent rate of $89. It is $10 more than the Spring Hill Suite Lincolnshire, listed in the brochure but it is closer and seems to be more in the "hub" of all the navy action. Maybe because it is a fairly new property, it is not listed in the brochure. (1-847-688-9800) You get the best rate if you call. Also got a letter! Yea! Sounded like things are tough but he is in good spirits.

I am soooooooooo confused !!! i don't know WHERE to stay or for how LONG ????
i will be travelling alone and want to stay someplace comfy,convenient ( i will not be renting a car so i need a hotel w/shuttle service) and clean........
but for how long ? i have had no letters and tho i know he is "fine" i wish i knew what the "leave" or lack thereof situation was going to be..........
how LONG are you all staying at there and are you arriving the day before ?

Was a good week this week...we received our first letter from our Son and also received the 20 sec. phone call regarding the change in graduation date. So happy to hear his voice. We pray for him and all the others every day. He is going for EOD and I was glad to be introduced to this group! Stay positive everyone...be strong for our sons and the difference they are making every day!
