Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 801 & 802!!!

It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

theresa320...No phone call for me :( Did he say how his division was doing?

No mail or phone call from our SR last week in 801.  Any info you can share, thesesa320?  I feel starved.

Got a letter today from our 801 SR dated 11/3 (postmarked I think around 11/6).  Sounded good.  They have been VERY busy. Lots of inspections and watch. Very excited about PIR! 801 still stinks at marching but their inspections went very well; they scored the highest possible scores on all 3.  Cooperation and morale on the rise. He still hasn't mentioned getting his wisdom teeth out...bummer that it might be so close to PIR for him. Did not mention sickness.  Anyone else have news?

JackFlash, do you think 801 and 802 "class up" in preBUDS and then train together?  I haven't heard of any of our guys' future rates (i.e. SEAL, SWCC, otherwise). Veteran members: does a SEAL candidate who is having a harder time making the get redirected to one of the other SO rates while in BC?

ElsieS, Countrymom, Theresa320...Got a letter today from my SR who is also in 801! Was written 11/07 and postmarked 11/08. He sounds great and excited. Says time is flying by now. They will have officially ended their "Hell Week" last week. Said they will be now be moving on to the fun stuff! They are working on getting their "Hall of Fame" flag. Said the division has been pretty healthy with not much sickness etc. Very short letter as he didnt really have time to write as they are ALL studying for tests and stuff. It is an overall group score, not individual. Hopefully they got the flag they were trying for! Both 801 and 802 do go to prebuds together.

One last kind of dumb question for today - I am sending a Thanksgiving card and it is in an orange envelope. I heard that we should only send white envelopes. Is that true? Thanks.

I don't know, I sent a halloween card in an orange envelope, but I am only assuming that he got it.

I've sent different colored envelopes every letter-just funny cards-and he has got them all-no worries.

Believe it or not, he told me I could send a box and he got it. I find that incredible. But it contained shampoo, deodorant and his watch (didn't know he could have those items). I was really nervous sending that watch but he got it!

Sailormom, is your son in 801 or 802?

For some of you who have joined more recently, Jackflash started a pre-buds group for ship 04, div 801 and 802. Helpful info and discussions there too.

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/prebudsmomss/forum/topics/ship-04-...

Really found the info on what items to bring your sailor after PIR very helpful.

Thanks so much to all of you seasoned moms/dads helping us through this!

Over 6100 views for this group.  In contrast: 021/022 brotherhood same ship 04 group has had 2200.

Thanks sailormom7 for the reference to the other 01/802 group in preBUDS.  I find that I need to check both groups to feel better informed....

Another helpful site I look at is PIR Reference Information.  There is so much info out there, but be careful because I found that some of the posts were older and might be outdated, ESPECIALLY the ones about the guys being able to spend the night offbase and about the guests getting in on standby.  NOT TRUE!!!

If anyone else has found helpful sites, please let me know so I can go take a look!

802. You are too right?

Yes.  I am very curious about the whole package thing.  I sent a few of my letters in a larger envelope and they considered it a package and it got returned to me!  Glad to know your package got there though!
