Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 801 & 802!!!

It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Hi all! I'm new to this site and was very happy to find this group! My SR is in 802. I got a letter today saying they will definitely be getting two weeks off for Christmas! A retired SEAL went to talk to them on the 7th and told them this. My SR seems to think the dates will be the 22nd through the 4th, but he's not 100% positive. My SR is the mail petty officer and mentioned that their Chief takes away mail privileges A LOT, so that may answer why some of you go a little while without any mail, (at least for 802, not sure about 801). Anyways, it's been great reading everything you all have had to say!!

Hello Kait-- Welcome!

Now, on to serious business.... You tell your SR-- Snow, rain, sleet, or cranky Chief.... The mail MUST go through!

With great power comes great responsibility. LoL

Just kidding-- we are glad to have you here and thank you for sharing that.

Thanks for the info, Kait.  Makes me so excited for Christmas!

kait, thank you for the holiday information. Although we are able to post dates for PIR, it is not recommended we post exact dates of movement.

Just dont send newspaper articles. I sent some for the World Series and my SR said it was the first time he got yelled at to his face. And i did that twice. He did not say anything about the colored envelopes. he is in 802

Bears Nana, I guess all RDCs are different. Newspaper articles and pictures were not a problem when my son went through. I was even able to sneak a stick of gum from time to time. PIR must seem like to eternity to them ( moms too)

No 802 mail today for me..... but then that's nothing new.

The days can't go fast enough.

Don't forget about veterans day, jackflash. Mail this week will be a day late :)

Who started a pile in the living room for PIR?  Binoculars, camera battery charger, tissues, comfy walking shoes, luggage (to check) of civvies, favored snacks etc for the SR.... We leave 2 weeks from today!  And Thanksgiving is in between, so that will make time go by even faster.  I sure do hope that the family or churchgroup that adopts him will let him use a cell for a few minutes!

Welcome, Kait!

A wise bird cautioned us not to mention specific dates on here....I wrote my SR and cautioned him that he might not want to use his leave for every day of the break.  Once he gets to CA, for instance, he doesn't want to be out of leave when other opportunities might arise.  What are other families doing?  Are you trying to figure out what the SR wants to do so that you can book flights soon for break to get the best deals, or are you waiting until PIR to talk details?

Hey ElsieS, you might be right about not taking the whole leave. I know it must be very tempting for them (and us). When did they start collecting leave time? In October?
So this may sound like a dumb question but are the SRs allowed to be hugged and hold their children etc after graduation? Sounds strange I know, but some site online claimed they couldn't? What? Sounds crazy to me but I need to know. That hug is one of the main things I'm looking forward to!

Bex, absolutely HUG AWAY.
