OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

No letter yet but my son did get to call to get more information needed for his security clearance on Tuesday. It was soo good to hear his voice! He is doing fine except he said that almost everyone had an upper respiratory virus. He passed his two tests on the first try so he's already been promoted to E2. He said the food was decent. He said he had written us one letter but they're not given much time to do so. I would say it's difficult for this "texting generation" to actually write a letter. I know my son has never written a personal letter in his life, only thank you notes that I've forced him to write:) Anyway, he's doing fine and like you said, no news is good news!! I'm praying he gets to come home for the holidays, he said he still didn't know....He's headed to Pensacola for "A' school.

This was good to hear. I havent heard from my boyfriend except for the 19 second phone call I got from him after being there for a week. So did your son say when he mailed his letter off to you? My SR is attending school in Pensacola as well.

No, he didn't say but I am guessing it was on Sunday, the 11th when he wrote us. My husband was in the Navy for 8 years and he said in boot camp that Sundays were when u got to go to church, write home, etc. Of course, that was a long time ago:). We dated, got engaged and were married his last four years of enlistment. It was tough but we made it! Been married 27 years:) God is good! -

That is a blessing. I pray that my boyfriend and I find love and dedication like you guys did. Send my thanks to your husband for his time spent protecting us. Please keep me inform if you hear anything from your son, you probably will beat me to the mail box!

I will be here anytime you need me. It won't be as bad as when my hubby was out to sea. The ONLY communication was letters during the Ronald Reagan (my hero) years. My husband was in Communications so once i got a call from a Ham Radioman in New England who picked up Sam's inquiry for help reaching me, then he in turn called me on his personal phone so we could talk. Sam was in the Indian Ocean and it was super-exciting, as I hadn't heard his voice in months. Today, I bet things are much better w computers, skype, etc. At least I hope so:)
Let's try to keep each other informed if we hear that they get leave after boot camp for the holidays if they're headed to Pensacola to "A" school. It seems everyone else is getting 10 days leave. I can't go to graduation because i work the weekend before Christmas at the hospital but my husband (and maybe our daughter) is going to go. Hoping he can bring him home. THAT will be my Christmas present !!

I have to agree I am thankful for technology especially since I am a Computer Tech. When I got my letter my SR said everyday is a challenge, but he loves it! We must keep them motivated with letters and cards. My SR asks me several times in his letter to keep the letters coming. Sorry you can’t make it, but I’m pretty sure you will get to spend Christmas with you SR (fingers crossed) and New Years. I was upset that he had to leave in October for boot camp because it is so cold at this time, but if they would have left any sooner they would have not been home for the holidays. Thank you Jesus for that!

Amen ! I write him a lot and our congregation at church all signed a sweet card telling him he was in their prayers this past Sunday. My SR is going to A school in Pensacola too so I wish he would def tell us that he gets to "go in the hole for vacay" and come home for the holidays. We still haven't rec'd the "3 week phone call" but hope to get it soon. Hopefully he can clue us in to what will happen after graduation. I'm a planner, type a personality so this is a trial for me. I hope they feed them a good Thanksgiving meal. My husband thinks that they've prolly been thru the gas chamber by now. Hope that went ok, they say everyone pukes:( Then after that comes shooting range practice. Thankfully, my hubby took him to a local gun range to practice before he left. One thing for sure, I bet they all appreciate how good they had it at home after this experience! Please let me know if you hear anything and i will do the same for you!

Our son has never wrote a true letter either. It takes a lot lo get than texting. My husband keeps telling me to stop with the worry issue but as a mom it is just built into us. He had been away at college for 4 years so I was used to being gone but he always sent me a text or a call just to say hi. What I wouldn't give for a 2am
"Butt dial". Oh well maybe today will be the day. At least from what your son is saying it makes me feel alittle better. Thank you for the update. Is your son on Ship 11 Div. 037? Our son will be heading to Charleston for "A" school. -

His address says ship 11 div 37/38 so I'm unsure of which division. I wish my son was going to Charleston. That's a lot closer to us than Pensacola. Guess I'd better get used to him being far away, especially on those 6 month cruises when he's has sea duty. -

Ok so tomorrow is going to our !!! Thats my power of positive thinking working overtime!!!! Luckily my mailman has been coming early so I don't have to wait all day :) happy thoughts to all !!!
