Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 904 and 905

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Anyone from 905 have a letter yet?  No mail today for me in MA.

no letter - gotta wait til Tuesday now

Hi utamom - maybe your son donated the clothes he wore and that's why you didn't get a box.....what ship/div is your son?  We've received one "real" letter so far. Hoping maybe next week we can get a phone call!

no letter here yet,  Hoping for one this week :)

It's hard waiting to hear something when you are used to seeing them everyday!  I mainly just hope that Marlene is receiving my letters and cards and her friends are writing, too.  A phone call will be awesome!

Keep the faith!

No letter here either!! Hoping soon.  If not this week, he is going to get a letter with all kinds of mush written on the envelope so he has to open in front!!

Hi everyone - I received my first official letter from my son. He said he is on week 2 of BC. He sounded upbeat and said so far training has not been too intense. The letter was short and sweet and it made my day. :-) Hope everyone is doing well.
NauticalGem - I'm sooo happy to hear you got your letter. Did he put a date on it? I'm glad to hear that he thinks training isn't so intense. :))) anything else? ....sitting on the edge of our seats awaiting our first letter.

He didn't put a date on his letter! He did say it was his second week of BC so I'm guessing this may have been written last week?  He said he gets three meals a day, they tell him when to sleep, wake up, eat, or anything else.  He also told me he prayed for me the night before my surgery (Nov 2) and the morning of, that everything would go well.  He signed of his letter with "Please stay safe and healthy" He melted my heart <3  I love my boy so much. He already sounds more grown up.  I can't wait to hear about everyone else's letters! Please do share, I feel like they are all "OUR" boys and girls now. :-))))

You got that right! I'm trying to figure what they've been doing this week. I'm expecting her first letter to complain that I should have made her stay when she balked the night before she left. So if I expect a sad letter and deal with it before I get it it won't be so bad! Once the letters start coming I hope they'll get better and better. This is something she really wants and she's a toughie. She's little, about 115 lbs. and 5'3". Maybe building more muscle will give her a few more pounds! She was running, swimming, doing the insanity workout before she left and was very happy with her shape. Can't wait to see her in December. Looking forward to hearing about everyone's letters!

Hi everyone - just got our 2nd "real" letter tonight! Sounds great - says he is a "body snatcher" which means he will try his best to not let anyone pass out and hit the ground at PIR!  Says they have over 30 nukes in their division - he is a nuke too.  He said "it is a ridiculous amount of brain power in one division!" LOL

He said it was Friday the 10th (so not sure if it was actually written on Friday the 9th or Saturday the 10th).  Guess he isn't sure what day it is!

He also said that they told him him if they all graduate on time then they will get 10 days leave...so he said to get him a plane ticket for the 23rd but he will call to give me more details.  I'm not going to get my hopes up too much about the leave, but it will sure be nice if he does get it!

He said they were about to start their official 2nd week of boot camp.  Says the food is great but he misses Chipotle and In and Out burgers!

Hope everyone else gets another letter soon and hopefully phone calls will be coming!

Anyone got a phone call yet with info about leave? Based on the letter we received on Thursday he thought they would be making a call soon....
