Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 019 & 020
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Dad 4 SR is he going to be graduating on Nov. 30th?
Hopefully.... : / Originally was supposed to graduate two days from now...
I lost the original letter with the password to get on base; I know, I should have given it to my wife..... ship 03, div 020. Can someone send it to me? It's the one from the four page form letter that said these are the four people coming to graduation, etc. Someone please help --called public affairs today and they said they can't help. I'm afraid there isn't enough time for a letter to get to him and back. Anyone?
I'm sorry-- dunno. My son was sent back to this ship and division from one graduating tomorrow-- I remember that password. It was a presidents name.
Dad 4 SR - We sually advise those that have a change of PIR to keep the original Form Letter with all of the info on it. That way they can call PAO and ask for the new Password for the new PIR date.
You have to have the original Password in order to get new. It's the only time that they ever give out Passwords since they are confidential. I have never been able to find out if they are Division specific or PIR specific...but specific they are!
I see that you called PAO and they could not help. Did you let them know that you knew the old password.
Try again, if you did not or they did not ask.
It is confidential and they ask for recipients not to give it out to each other. The only other way is to get it from your recruit. You should have time to write if another call to PAO does not get results.
The worst case scenario? If you are driving to PIR...the Metra Train Station parking is right there on Ohio Street (the street that RTC Gate 8 is on). You literally continue on Ohio and drive right into the lot. You can park there for a small fee. Then you can walk onto RTC.
I hope that helps some :-)
A lot of info-- thank you so much. I'll try again but public affairs was really disappointing. I know they don't have the time for 2,000 parents to be calling for individual requests but there are some things they need to help with. Round trip mail to our son is taking minimally 3 weeks-- a function of the training, certainly, but not an efficient way to communicate.
See if you can ask your new sailor for the password when he makes the I'm a Sailor call. If he doesn't know it since he was transferred into the division, there should be someone around there with him who does. We aren't quite sure how the passwords work, if each division gets one or what, but it would be worth a try.
Hi everyone! I got a letter today. I only have a couple of minutes but I wanted share something my daughter wrote in her letter that applies to us. She closed out her letter saying, "so my RDC is on Navy for Moms reading everything and picking on us so be careful what you post." LOL! :D
