OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Welcome to the discussion group for division 803.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Yes,

If they have their wisdom teeth and they have not already had them removed, the Navy will remove them.

yes because wisdom teeth could cause them problems later on when a dentist is not easily to come by.

I'm happy airr is a big deal
Whatwhat if their wisdom teeth dont need to be pulled?

My son had this done too. down for 3 days he said.

Has anyone heard anything from their SR's lately?  Here we go again with nothing lol....

They only get to mail letters once a week, so you will only hear from them once a week and that is, if they write.

Thank you.

I GOT A RESPONSE ABOUT CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS FROM RTC:  READ BELOW:

Ma'am,

Recruits will have the opportunity to take leave following the graduation on
21 December. They have been given this message and will be in contact with
family members. The leave is optional so what the recruit decides to do
during this time they need to communicate their decision to family members
and friends.

Respectfully,

Thank goodness! Mine better come home lol!!!

I COPIED THIS FROM RETIRED MILITARY OFF FACEBOOK.  ITS HELPFUL INFORMATION>

Being retired military it doesn't confuse me at all. Military members EARN 2.5 days of leave per month of active duty. Therefore, while they are in boot camp they earn approximately 5 days of ACCRUED leave. If they want to use more than that then they have to take ADVANCE leave which MUST be paid back at the same 2.5 days per month. Please note that weekends also count in the day count. For example, if they graduate on 12/21/12 and want to take leave until the the 2nd of January they would need to take 12 days leave - meaning they would have to take about 7 days ADVANCE leave. Those 7 days are going to cost them about 3 months before they get back above above zero, and only then will they get start earning regulate leave again. This means after this initial leave hey won't be eligible for 7 days regular leave for an another 3 months after that - 6 months away. So if they want leave within that time frame, or after A School they should conserve their leave. When I joined many, many, years ago I made a huge mistake and took a whole bunch of leave right right after boot camp. It took me a long time to catch up. Even though YOU would love your SAILOR to take as much leave as YOU want, it probably is not in the best interest of the SAILOR. As much as I would love to spend as much time with my SAILOR, Steve Back, Ship 13, Div 033, I am gong to recommend he take as little leave as HE thinks he NEEDS - not what he WANTS.
