Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 904 and 905

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hey, utamom4u!  I'll be sure to get pictures of your son at graduation.  It's been great to hear from my daughter.  Now that I've finally heard from her I can relax, she is okay and she loves it!  Thinks that being in the performance group is cool!l  She'll be carrying the Alaska flag...DIV 905.  She told my her friend that she'll get 10 days leave at Christmas but then she'll be negative vacation days so I hope she'll either just take a few days at home so she can take more at a stretch after A school.

I'm just so happy that she's having a positive experience; first time away from home and she's my youngest and only girl. No phone call yet, but she did write to her two brothers, my boyfriend who she adores, and three of her girlfriends.  Everybody is so glad to hear from her!

Several letters from Justin came on Friday! Homesick at first of course, but by the second letter was his humorous self. Loves the food and the PT. He carries the IL flag and he seemed very excited to perform in the upcoming PIR's He did make mention of knowing to stay away from medical so Im glad about that after all Ive read about it! Says his DIV gets in trouble alot so Im wondering if thats the reason we didnt get a call Sunday? Also mentioned having been granted leave 12/21-12/30 and about me getting a flight, I wish I knew more about that! Im hesitant to book one not knowing if this is definate and when he will actually be free to go. Im afraid there wont be a flight available or the price will be rediculous, they go up every day. Not sure what to do, hope he calls soon. Also he mentioned making a good friend ( Zack from Nebraska) if his mom is out there? Glad our boys are friends!

Hey ya'll - my son's GF received 7 letters on Friday (i have yet to get mine). Same with my boy, he was homesick at first and wondered why he signed up for it.....then as his letters went on he seemed more upbeat with the Dental work (a small filling and they will repair a chipped tooth from soccer).  He will be carrying a flag - not sure which one.  He says the food is horrible compared to our Gulf Coast dishes.  He also wonders what's happening on the "outside", and to keep the letters coming.  He says they wake up every morning at 3 AM.  Days are long- 17-18 hours, but the weeks are going by fast.  I am waiting for the sound of the mail truck, with a letter on standby (with news and photos) waiting to go out.

Finally have a division!! yay 02/904 it is :)  If anyone gets a phone call...My son is SR Michael (from Florida) but goes by Dylan, tell him to call his momma!!!! I am happy to have tidbits of info though :)

Got a call today!!  He is doing well!  Apparently his nickname is Ninja. LOL

I just missed my son's first call from BC! I hope he calls me back again. Does this mean I have to wait til next week for his call again? I am so sad. :-(
Just received a call from my son!!! He sounded great. Love him so much!!!

YAY! congrats

Got a 20 minute phone call today!  Sounds great - wanted to give me info for holiday leave.....now i need to get his flight home arranged!

yay!  Im glad you got a call :) My son is also coming home for leave.  so0o0o excited, I cant contain myself!!

I got son's ticket home (was able to get him on the same flight as us!) and also his flight back to Goose Creek, SC so we are all set.  Now we just need it to be 12/21!  And I read somewhere in another discussion group that they can get reimbursed for their flight back to their A school.  Good to hear - need to make sure I have him check into that.

Everyone is glad he will be home for Christmas :)

First time posting,  I called the public affairs office the other day to get some questions answered, My daughter is in the 905 div. and after they graduate they are free to leave, she has 10 days of leave as well and will be coming home with us for xmas, then reports back to Florida  on the 30th at 4pm for A school, we are so excited to have her come home and looking forward to graduation. Thanks for all of your comments and support. If any one is interested in contacting the public affairs office here is the number 847-688-2405 they are answering questions about graduation and whats to be expected for the holiday leave.
