Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 035 & 036
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Has anyone from this ship and division received any calls? For other than security questions? Nothing from her this week so far.
Have not heard from our Grandson at all ... a letter or a phone call...but according to everything that I have read...no news is good news...but I am worried too...but I keep sending cards and letters...he is also on Ship 03 Div 36....if I don't hear something this weekend I will give his recruiter a call....will keep you posted....
We received two letters and a phone call Friday. My son has a cold but spirits are good. Said he has made good friends one from Rhode Island and two from California. I am so excited. Can't wait to see him. Asked that I send gummy bears, stated they are allowed one item for Thanksgiving (Ship 03 DIV 036). Said he has stayed under the radar, not gotten in trouble, but if someone else does they all pay. He also stated he is allowed leave so we are booking his ticket he can leave after 4:00 p.m. on the 21st. We are flying him back 7 days later he doesn't want to use up the leave, he stated. Hope this helps others!! He also stated he will be allowed about three other calls and to check face-book they took pictures of them.
Has anyone found the photos? I have looked but not had any luck. I still have not received a call. I did receive a letter on Friday. Just said that she hasn't gotten any letters from me.......I write her everyday! I have double checked the address. My heart is breaking, just do't know what else to do. Where the heck is her mail going to? It does give me hope in knowing that no news is good news but ........a call would be nice. Happy to hear that everyone else has been able to speak to their recruit.
Got the 20 minute phone call from my son Friday! We were so excited to hear from him. He was great through the call until the very end when we all got pretty emotional. He has made a really good friend with a guy from California. Now we are planning travel arrangements to the graduation on the 21st. My problem is that will they only be bussed to the O'Hare airport or is Midway and option as well?
We also got a 20 min call and letters from our daughter Friday. Sounded good, said she knew another Moms daughter and that some of them had been sick. We are flying out on teh 19th, staying in Chicago that night and then driving to base on Thurs. Not sure if we will do a meet and greet, but hope to meet many of you if possible. Spoke to a friends daughter who is now stationed in San Diego who said that they loved getting letters, but only got to write on Sundays, and that the last PFA is the one that matters. Glad to know everyone has heard from thier kids and know it was nice, but sad as well. Hope everyone is doing well and are as excited about seeing how much our children have grown. Keep us all informed if anyone hears anything new, and look forward seeing you at graduation.
Received letter on Friday, and his Dad received a call on Friday too....Thank God..all is well and he said that his division 36 was solid and he has made quite a few friends...sounded upbeat and surprised he could write such a nice note...
Since we are coming in a day early from California ...does anyone know what to do at GL on Wed. evening and Thurs....we are flying into Midway...trying to decide if we need a car or just take a cab or taxi to the base...any suggestions???
Thanks and to all "Have a very Happy Thanksgiving"....
First call FINALLY came this morning!!! We were able to talk for 20 minutes. She finally received all my letters last Monday. Since then she said they are coming on schedule. She doesn't hate BC, she said things are going better than she thought they would. She is also looking forward to Christmas break. She said that she thought today she was going to chose her "Dream" stations. Thought she may get another phone call this weekend. I can relax now. They are right when they say no news is good news!
That is very exciting and I am sure that makes your Thanksgiving Holiday even brighter....I am so looking forward to going to PIR even though the weather might not be the best..This is quite a journey even for a grandparent...
Where is your daughter going for A school?
Pensicola. And your grandson?
He is going for Sonar Tech and A school is at Point Loma (near San Diego)...
Have a "Happy Thanksgiving"....
My son is on Ship 03 DIV 036, he called this week said he passed first review and was fitted for his blues. Anyone on here from Rhode Island? He said he has a good friend now from there. His cold is gone and he was upbeat. Said he got his one item he was allowed for Thanksgiving (gummy bears) and they allowed him to have all that would fit in his mouth. Hope everyone else is getting good news! Can't wait to meat everyone. We are from South Texas, he also mentioned a friend from Texas too!!
