Only way to confirm any of this is to write your recruit....even if the address is wrong it will get to him sooner or latter.  The forum letter is the one what has the correct address, not the box.

Regarding the "pass" yes recruits are allowed leave after that PIR...BUT the recruit will write the family and tell that that information.  The Navy doesn't pay for them to go home though, that is out of their own pocket, than they have to pay to get to their "A" School...if their "A" School is anywhere BUT Great Lakes...they fill out paper work when they get to "A" School to get part of the money back from their trip...BUT it is the goverment rate from Great Lakes to their "A" School.

Join the group, PIR 12/28/2012 TG 7 - 8 Divisions (039 - 044, 906 & 907), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Know that Divisions 039 and 040 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  Perhaps someone on there has information about the holiday Leave for that PIR.  I have not seen anything posted about that date yet.  Since your ex got the form letter, do you know the names of the 4 people your SR plans to put on the Access List and the password to get the vehicle/gate pass if you plan to drive onto to RTC?  Write your SR if not and ask and you can ask him if he has heard anything about Leave for the Holiday Stand down at the "A" Schools.

Division 039 is on Ship 3, so based on http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp, the address should be:

SR LAST NAME, FIRST NAME  MI

SHIP 03 DIV 039

3600 OHIO STREET

GREAT LAKES IL 60088-3156

There should not have been an address in the box and yes, sometimes recruits will use an address that is slightly different from the one in the form letter, but letters will get to your recruit at either address.

Where will he be going for "A" School and/or what will his rating (job) be?  There are groups on here for most of the ratings and/or "A" Schools.
