Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 801 & 802!!!

It only happens a few times a year when there are two special ops groups in one TG.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

One of our all-time favorite animated movie collections!!!

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. My boys will not be here again this year, but I know I will see them in a few weeks.

Please keep Class 2 9 8 in your prayers this weekend as they begin their longest day on Sunday. This is a good time to light the blue candles that you will use many times in the future, including Battlestations.

When you're missing your Sailor -- Light a Blue Candle!

A wonderful way to honor Sailors anytime, anywhere ....during Boot, PIR, specialized  training, deployment or when you're just thinking about your loved one on distant shores.

Don't forget holidays, family events or birthdays too -

Blessings to all our Sailors

I love this idea of lighting a blue candle to honor our sailors!  Thanks for the great idea sjtina!

And so great to hear how the community takes the  SR in on the holidays.  Sounds like our son too will be going to a church.

We got a letter today and he too sounded in great spirits and talked about 802 still in the running for the Hall of Fame honors.  He was excited about the Captain Cup competition as well which I believe is this Saturday.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all and can't wait to meet in a week!

I had a letter waiting when I got home today.... so good.  Makes a great day better than ever.

It sounds like 99% of them will be going to a Church of some kind for Thanksgiving tomorrow-- including my son.  He is thankful already for the day off, and for the meal that goes with it.  This was his letter written this past Sunday, and he mentions limitations on mail going forward until they are done.  They are putting all they've got into earning Hall of Fame honors.  Good for them!

Not sure if tomorrow will gift us a phone call or not, but we are hopeful---- and thankful no matter what.  Our son sounded so good.  So positive and confident, and---- good.  I hope you all get the same kind of news.

Have a great Thanksgiving Day, All.

I hope you do get phone calls...most of the orginizations have folks providing cell phones and/or computers for skyping or FB.

Keep a look out for any news articles with coverage. They had some videos as well. I put all that were found into a Discussion for the GROUP. I can do it again this year!

Thanks for sharing JF.  It feels like I got to hear from mine too- through you.  I'm glad "we're" all doing so well :).   Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Just got a phone call from my son in 802. He sounds in very good spirits and is thankful that he got to go to the VFW for the holiday.  He has a long list of things he wants me to bring for after PIR. Said the firefighting drill and the gas chamber went well. Looking forward to Captain's Cup and Battlestations. He says he can call again on Saturday :).  I can't wait to see him next week!

I too got a call. Came at 12:33 and we talked for 46 Minutes!! This is the best Thanksgiving blessing ever! This was my first call from my son since he left on Oct. 3. And I have only had 1 letter received on Nov. 1, so these past couple of weeks have been especially rough for me. I have been carring my phone everywhere!!! I am so relieved, he sounded sooooo good. It was amazing. I got a littlle emotional when I first heard his voice but got it together quickly. He said that he had lost that first call, And he wrote and sent another letter on Veterans Day but somehow addressed it incorrectly and it came back to him 5 days later. He said he resent it so maybe I will get it tomorrow. He is also at the VFW today and said they had coffee Danish and donuts this morning. He confirmed what I had been reading on these posts, tough RDCs but was excited and upbeat. Talked about the bonds he is forming with some of the guys and can't wait for PIR. I told him I had found this site but not until last Sat. Wish I had found it 6 weeks ago!! IQ have been reading the post each day sinc and it has been my lifeline... My ONLY connection and info source. the frustrating thing was that I could not communicate with any of you because my profile had not been approved. Still not able to get on this am Then after his call I checked again and IQ could sign on!!! Second praise for today!!! Anyway, want to thank everyone for their posts and encouragement even if you didn't realize how much it meant to me. I am flying into Milwaukee but do not get in until 900 And then have to drive to Navy Lodge so cannot do the meet and greet. So bummed about that but my son said the guys have been talking and we will have opportunities to connect later in the weekend. Looking forward to meeting you all and Can't wait for next Thursday. Sorry for the rambling post, making up for lost time. My son is calling back later this afternoon when we are together at his Grandmother's house so need to get over there. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, enjoy your day and your phone calls!!!

Welcome ProudMom. Glad you are finally able to join in.

Happy Thanksgiving to my extended  Navy family. I am very thankful for this website as it has kept me informed through this process. I am looking forward to meeting many of you at PIR.  I got a call this morning and a picture of a small group of our SRs who were at a VFW. My SR said that they are being treated very well : ) I am grateful to those folk at the VFW who are donating their time on this Thanksgiving for our SRs.

My son was also at VFW.  I am so gratefull to all of those people.  Here is their facebook page.  You can see if you recognize anyone. https://www.facebook.com/vfwpost.twoeightzeroone?fref=ts  Mine wasn't in there, but I got a picture like you meam...I wonder if both our boys are in the same one.  I'm to chicken to post it anywhere but mine has 8 guys, 6 standing and 2 sitting.  Mine is a sitter with lighter hair.
