Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 029 & 030

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

So disappointed by the last minute announcement that Active/Retired and kids 2-12 now have to be on the access list !! That puts off 3 people for our family, including his Dad. I just hope he gets the letter in time to take his brother off the list and put his Dad (retired Navy - 30 years) on the access list !! What a mess !! Today should be 5 - 1 for our group. One of the Moms on facebook mentioned that they may have a division (29/30) phone call on Friday!! Keep your phones close :)

I got a couple letters today. He gave me a run down of their daily schedule and told me they had won 3 flags so far, academic, athletic and inspection.

he said they are still not a great team though.

My son also said that. I hope they can pull it together for Battlestations! Sounds like they have a great chief though!

Howdy all, has anyone heard anything from 030?  It's been a couple of weeks since I've heard anything.

Got a call from my SR. He said they won a hour call and voted to split their time with their brother division.  He sounded wonderful, has another cold, but was very excited about getting his collar insigna and said he should have his orders for A school by tomorrow.

Sorry, I am an AF vet new to the Navy world so I may not have correctly understood what he was telling me.  I think he was talking about advancement because of his test scores.

That's great.  I also got a 5 min call from my son.  Please tell 029 thank you for sharing!

ChiefDad - My son is in 29.  I will pass that on !  I was so proud of them to hear that they shared it.  Glad you got a quick call.

Aggravation turned into something good.  Friday I was carrying my phone with me everywhere since I heard we might be getting a call.  Went to Costco and ended up losing it.  My SR called and someone from Costco answered ..told him (trust me he wasn't surprised); said he would call his dad and let him know.  So he did and surprisingly Dad answered the phone (because he was golfing)  So at least he got to talk to his dad...even though I was sad because I wanted to talk to him.  GF also got the longer phone call and all in all he is doing fantastic!!

Just printed my parking pass!! Now my only worry is the PFA. Does anyone know when its scheduled for Div 030? He failed the first one and has been on extra PT since then. If only he would have listened to me back in June when I was trying to blast him out of his room and away from the computer. He insisted that he would have plenty of time to work out during bc and didn't want to listen to me even though I've led hundreds of recruits through training. I'm hoping that he calls on Thursday and tells me that he's passed.

Hi Linda

I wouldn't mind having that info if you have dates for when they are doing things. My son gave me a pretty good idea of the daily schedule but not dates. thanks for being willing to share :)

Hi there Moms!  My son is not on this ship but.....

I am at an American Legion Hall That is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for the SR Div 029 and 030!!

I will be taking pictures and I will post them here.  I will let you know.  They are all great men!  They made them all speak to tell us where they are from and why they joined the navy.

*****  Watch channel 5 news here in Chicago!!  google and find out how.  They interviewed some men and video taped alot.

I just wanted to give you the heads up to look for it.  You might see your son!  All men there no women.  46 in all.

I am going to be leaving to head back there. Just want  you to know that they might be calling - cell phone s are available..

Happy Thanksgiving!
