Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 037 & 038

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

The only call we have recieved was the call saying he was there, 20 sec. long and like your son said he would call in about 3 weeks but nothing. I really wish that a call would come. We have so many questions that need addressed and we have no answers. This is diffently not what the recruiter had said or the information on the Great Lakes website.
We got a 3 minute call tonight. It said "pay phone" on the caller ID but it musta been on the gov't dime cause it was short and sweet...

I am sorry you ladies have not gotten calls from your SR. We did only because he needed additional security information. I am looking forward to Chicago for pre Christmas. I hope there is not to much snow, maybe enough to be fun but not to snow us in at the airport. We will miss our son this Thanksgiving, first time without him. Everybody enjoy Thanksgiving.

I just got a call from my SR, it was only 3 minutes, but it was needed. He is doing fine. He is wondering why it is taking so long for me to get his letters he said he has gotten about 30 of my letters. I hope evyone else has gotten a call.

We got the short call, too!!

11/38 got a short 5 minute call tonight from my son. SOOOO happy to hear from him. Homesick but doing well.

We got the short call, too !!

Do you think we will still get a call on Thanksgiving? I guess they like teasing us as well as them, My SR was tongue twisted when I answered the phone lol. Poor babies. 30 more days!

I got a call too...yeah!!! He is a little sick but seems good....It was short and sweet but the best thing ever!!! He needs a check for pictures....I thought they set them up with the Navy credit union??. It was just great hearing his voice....Doing the happy dance again,!!!

I am new to this and really excited to see how other moms/sons are doing.  Isn't your son also Ship 11, Div 37?

and  I think that i read where he was a Seebee and going to Gulfport for his A school.  So is my son.  We got our first short phone call the other evening.  He said he is allowed to come home after graduation and doesn't have to fly out until Dec. 30th! (happy happy happy!).  I was wondering if you got the same information. We are from Ohio and will be staying at the Marriott Courtyard.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours would have been better if we had recieved a call but I have completely given up any hope of that happening. Just counting down the days until basic training is over.
Today I received my second letter from my son. Short but sweet. He wants me to send pictures. Sounded good. My mother and a friend also received a letter from him. Happy that he wrote his grandmama and so was she. Still waiting on a phone call though.
