Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 037 & 038

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Roz1088. My son is also in 11/37. Did you son say when he what day he would need to return to GL? I want to make flight arrangements but just not sure when to send him back. Day 9 or 10?

All I have heard is Dec 30th, but that wouldn't be 10 days-- that would be 9. Not compalining, we will take him back for however long he has, but not being able to talk to him yet, I have not been able to confirm their requirements. I am in the same predicament-- not able to make flight arrangements yet. Also checked into military discount, but for some airlines you can only get by calling the airline directly and sometimes it might be higher fare than what you can get online.....frustrating. Also, Southwest is the airline I checked with first, and the customer rep I spoke with said the military discounted seats for that day are filling fast..
Just don't want to make without more information.....patiently waiting for the next possible phone call.
Where are you guys from? We are in Maryland, so trying to get him back out on the 30th from BWI. Not easy having this graduation the weekend before Christmas and then having to get them back the weekend after Christmas....smile. But what fun would it be if it were too easy?
Our son is also in the same ship & division. I have been doing the same thing with my phone. Our call was 27 seconds and he was getting yelled at to get off but it was so good to hear him . Im praying you get to talk to your son soon. Was told tbey would be calling again next week for travel arrangements.

My call on Saturday was so short and rushed. All he told me was ten day leaving on the 22nd around 5:00pm but did not say when to return and yes make the reservation for him. If I make it he will be going back on the 9th day just to be safe.

Mommamac I wonder when they call back this week if they will be calling for travel arrangements we were suppose to make for them? Hate being so clueless!

Roz1088, I am in Georgia. One of the busiest airports around. But they all will be this time of the year.

My son is on 11/38 and going to A school in GL. Called Saturday told me he can come home on the 22nd and needs to be back by 4:00 on 12/30. He ask me to make reservations to fly back to GL on 12/29 in case of bad weather. Also ask me to email itenerary for trip home as well as trip back to GL. Didn't get the email address right from him so I mailed it to him today! Hope this helps.

TaylorsMOM, my son is in 11/37. what time did you make his flight leaving GL on Saturday. My son said after 5 but our flight leaves at 4:19 and it would be so much easier if I could get him on the same flight with us. Were you told anything like that?

We are driving home on Saturday. I think they can leave anytime on Saturday. Where is your son going to next? "A" school?

He will be going back to GL. So I am going to have him fly back to GA with us. If he has to change it the cost will be on him. That's all I can do with so little information. Driving sure would make it easier but it is a long drive for us.

In my SR's last letter he said his his friends mom is on here, soooo is Barbara G or C (handing writing still not that great) out there.....I'd love to talk with you,!!
Today we recieved a letter and our son said that things are getting better, counting down the days and getting fitted for their uniforms. He seemed to be in better spirits and is adjusting to the early hours. Looking forward to the holiday break, which was a surprise. Now just waiting to get a call where to send his travel plans to. Those letters make the time go by easier. Only 25 days left.

I received a letter yesterday that was written on Thanksgiving. I could really tell in this one that he is really home sick and ready for the leave. I don't know where to send travel plans either. I will probably just mail them unless I hear something different.

I mailed our sons travel arrangements to him, just in case we don't hear from him with that information. I know our son is looking forward to the break also. I know we are
