Our son is now in Bahrain on a mine sweeper onboard the Sentry. His Crew went over in early summer, but he joined up with them early Nov after taking qualifications in San Diego. I wonder if our sons know one another?
My son is on the USS Devastator, so they probably haven't met, but who knows? Maybe they will. LOL Are you on Facebook? Our son's crew has a FB page and we love seeing pictures that they occasionally post; helps us connect with what they're doing over there. Keep in touch :)
Mine is the one serving the burger in that album. :)
I would have to assume, on an MCM, everyone knows everyone. Not much room to hide.
Hello Kathleen, my Sailor/son just left for Bahrain to be on a minesweeper as I am posting this. When he is not deployed in Bahrain, he will be stationed in San Diego. We are from a Northeast Ohio town and this journey has been quite the experience. I am pleased to be able to post on here with you and others. He will be on the MCM Warrior #10. hope to meet up on here with others as well.
Hello to Rita, Concernedad, & HoustonTXMom!!!!
My son will be there in a few months.
I found out the crew my son is going to be joining here real soon and he will be joining your son's Rita & Sailors mom2011. I have been on the facebook page & look at those pictures & saw your sons. My son will be home the last week of February and then joining up with the crew after he returns to San Diego.
So glad he gets to come home for a while, Denise; Enjoy your time together! I'll be looking for the announcement of his arrival on the crew's FB page!
My son has now arrived in Bahrain. I received an email early this morning and then he called later in the day. Rita & Sailormom 2011 I sent you both friend request.
Found it, new N4M Friend! Glad to hear your Sailor made it over there safe & sound.
Just spoke to my son, he was waiting for the van to take them to the airport & start making that journey back to San Diego.
