Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 037 & 038

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hey everyone. Go back to the first page of PIR 12/21/2012 and read the post on that wall. Really explains everything. Looks like it came off of FB. Yes, yes, yes!

Got a letter today and our son was so excited, he finally saw snow for the first time in his life , said he was a true Floridian because he was asking about the dust. Everyone got a kick out of that. He's counting down the days.

Mommamac, that is great. How exciting for hi. Will you have to buy winter coats just to go to Chicago for your son's graduation? I don't own a winter coat anymoe , just heavy sweaters are enough for our winters. Lots of rain..

Winter clothing for PIR 12/21/12....I had to go out and get a couple of new sweaters, tops, scarves, under clothing (like leggings and tops to wear under my clothes). I still have to find a coat though.

I did find some coats on www.amazon.com & www.zappos.com

They have some gorgeous coats @ reasonable prices.  I met someone born and raised in Chicago and he told me to be sure to have a nice warm coat, scarf, gloves, ear muffs (unless I wore hats),  layer my clothing and make sure I wear long-john or similar stuff under my clothes. :0)

I found some great things like the above mentioned at various places: Kohl's online, JCPenney online and Wal-Mart (locally).  I'm going to Burlington Coat Factory to see what coats they have & sweaters.

I hope this information helps, because it is a possibility that it will be very cold at the time of yr. we are going. If may feel like 7* below. :o)  BRR!!!

Bamamom18~~~No snow here in Alabama. :( :)

We are going to be layering our clothes. My friend said that it is the wind chill that gets you.
We don't have any coats, have lived in south Florida for over 40 years. We are the same as you just sweaters. Should be interesting. I have been searching the consignment shops for coats for us. Guess we are going to be layering.
Just spoke to our son, was the best phone call in a long time. He said everyone is sick but they are doing good and looking forward to seeing us. He sounded in great spirits and the next 20 days will go by faster just by hearing his voice.

My son call today and we missed his call. He did leave a message and said that he will be buying his ticket home tomorrow. I have already bought his ticket!!! Is there any way to get in touch with someone to get a message to him? What a mess that will be!

When you send his itinerary to the email address he gave you, you will get a response that it was received . A phone # was listed : it was 847-688-2405. You may give it a shot or you may have time to cancel the ticket you bought him so he won't get yelled at for miscommunication . Our son was quite stressed yesterday over the itinerary being completely correct or he couldn't come home. Hope we sent everything needed.....

Qp, Thankfully my son was able to call again tonight so we have the flight arrangements all worked out. He did not make a flight himself. I also got an email address to send it. I have already taken care of it. I just forwarded what I got from the travel place. He is sick but it was really great to get to talk to him. Said he is doing good. Cannot wait to see him! And so, so thankful that double flights were not made.

Thank you for the number, I did finally get a note from them and was told I needed to send more information. Just did that, now I'm praying that things are OK. I was thinking the same thing about calling up there. I didn't want our SR to pay the price for my call. I have NOT contacted anyone up there for that reason.
Take care

I spoke with my SR today and everything is much better for him. He will be one of the guys holding a flag during graduation :-) and he passed all 5 parts of his inspection or something like that he said (he was talking so fast)! His school has been changed, he will no longer be attending Pensacola for A school, he will be going to Meridian, Mississippi and I am so excited because that is only a 4 hour drive from me. Did everyone else SR tell them that their travel arrangements itinerary must be emailed by Wednesday? I did mines last night.
